Beat the TRX Kid to the Squat Rack

There is joy in BallyVille today, as I beat the TRX kid to the one, lonely squat rack at the gym today. That meant I could get my squat workout done in 20 minutes, rather than waiting 40 minutes for the kid to finish up his 7 exercise circuit with his TRX hangind on the top of the rack.

I managed to do this by doing my old man warmup at home, then driving to the gym, getting there just after it opened.

Fortunately I'm going back to Toronto today to train at a gym with 5 squat racks and almost no members. Sometimes I have that gym to myself in the morning. It's the best home gym not in my own home.

One last thing...I'm looking on Craigslist for an olympic bar set and 500 pounds of weight, that way I can at least deadlift at home without having to go to the gym. I've found an equipment store selling a 300 pound set for $280, but I'm hoping to get a used set. Craigslist rules.

Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tip from the legendary Sean Stephenson (look this guy up on Youtube):
"Fairness is an illusion. Fairness never existed and never will. No one in life gets more or less than anyone else, we just get different stuff… It really doesn't matter what cards you get…It's how you play and stay in the game" – Sean Stephenson

And today's Independence Tip tip:

You cannot have self-doubt.

NOTE: After I posted this on FB, someone commented in a joking manner, saying they "only have self-doubt".

Listen, that's what you get. You get what you focus on. What you think about is what you become.

Now don't worry, men aren't going to change into Playboy models...because that's all we think about...but the truth is, if you think and joke that you have no self-confidence, then you'll have no self-confidence.

If you think you are confident, picture and visualize yourself as confident, then you'll get better and better at being confident every day.

Aim for progress, not perfection, and believe in yourself.

Whether you think you can or can't, you're right. - Henry Ford

Craig,
I don't mean to be a pest but we are Stratford's best fitness option. We never close and we have 2 squat racks! You would like it here...
Stop by soon.
