Happy New Month EVE!

Happy New Month Eve!

Tomorrow is Monday, May 1st, and it's the PERFECT Day to make a BIG, positive habit change.

Get rid of a bad habit. Add a new good one. Stay strong for 21 days. You'll discover so many alternatives to your old rituals and soon you won't miss that destructive behavior.

After I made the video, I skipped the coke zero (obviously!) and went to the gym for a deadlift session. It was good.

2A) Deadlift - worked up to 330x5
2B) Mobility

3A) RDL
3B) Abs

Good times.

Friday Fun and Filming

Today I did some filming, walking, rowing, pressing, and chilling.

It was a very good Friday indeed.

And it all started off right because I followed this formula:

Do the #1 thing 1st thing in the morning for SUCCESS


For example, if you want to workout but "lack the time", do it first thing!


My morning goes like this:

- write

- meditation

- dog walk

- breakfast

- work

- workout

- work

- lunch


In the afternoon I did my filming.


And this morning's workout looked like this:


1A) 1-Arm KB Overhead Press

1B) 1-Arm DB Row


2A) DB CSR

2B) Pushup


I did more overhead presses than normal, so we could have some soreness tomorrow. I also hit a 2017 PR of 90x16 reps for the row.


Saturday morning is an off day (long walk) and Sunday is deadlifts. Yay!

Lower Body Post Uber

Yesterday was a smooth travel day from Tampa to Toronto to the farm, and it was an off-day from training.

(I know I'm a little late to the party, but I just started using Uber and I find it incredibly entertaining on many levels. Although I will say, yesterday I sat in a Nissan Rogue and there was no headroom for me in the backseat to have a nap... and I'm only 5'9!)

Unfortunately I had a poor night's sleep, and that affected today's lower body workout. I stuck to higher reps with kettlebells at home instead of trying to get under the bar with heavier reps at the YMCA.

1A) Double Kettlebell Front Squat
1B) KB Swing

2A) DB Lunge
2B) Power Wheel Rollout

To Do and Deadlift

What a weekend. First we had a Perfect Life Workshop in Toronto, and then another one in Tampa. There were BIG breakthroughs for everyone as we got them dialed in for domination.

Sunday was an off day but today it was deadlifts in Joel's garage gym. The barbell was a little thicker today, so I had to settle for a 5-10% decrease in weights due to grip fatigue.

1A) Deadlifts
1B) Box Jump

2A) More deadlifts
2B) Abs

Perfect Life Workshops and Perfect Meathead Workoutz

I've had a couple of good mini-workouts, a great Perfect Life Workshop, and then a frustrating travel delay in the past 48 hours. But I'm finally in Tampa (from Toronto) and ready for another Perfect Life Workshop tomorrow.

Friday Morning's Hotel Room training...

1) Prisoner Squat

3) Iron Cross
4) Plank

I did 4 rounds, and in the first round I hit a new 2017 PB of 56 pushups!

2A) TRX Triceps Extension
2B) EZ Bar Curls

3A) Shrugz

Bedros and Swings

2017 = 30% complete.

Time to review goals, be honest with your progress, & adjust course.

I'm getting stronger in some basic lifts.

However I'm still skipping the squat rack too much.

Today I didn't prepare well enough and I had to do a home workout in the garage gym instead of stepping under the bar.

But it was still a record breaking session (on KB swings)

1A) Double KB Front Squat - 53x4x10
1B) KB swing - 70x40,20,15

2) DB Reverse Lunge

That was it. I'm keeping them shorter than ever these days.

Easter Deadlifts and Meathead monday

Easter was great. The workout was the best part, and while the dinner experiment went a little off kilter, it was still a wonderful weekend (and we had killer weather).

Sunday Funday Deadlifts

2A) Heavy Deadlift
2B) Mobility

3A) Lighter Deadlift
3B) Abs

Then for dinner...Well...

Nothing says Ballantyne family Easter like lamb leg, good wine, and a giant bag of octopus 🐙. Fun Fact: Only 500 calories per bag'o'octopus.😉👏🇨🇦


It turned out rubbery, unfortunately (although the lamb was good).


And at least Bally the 🐶 liked it. 😁


Monday was a meathead pressing movement workout in the garage gym.

1A) DB Chest Press
1B) WYLIT

2A) DB Close-Grip Incline Press
2B) Band Pull

3A) Triceps Extensions
3B) Upper Back rolling
