Kettlebell 555

You'll like this...

Kettlebell 555

  • 200 kettlebell swings
  • 100 prisoner squats
  • 50 stability ball rollouts
  • 100 bodyweight squats
  • 105 pushups

Nice workout this morning!

NOTE: I used as little rest as possible, but didn't go straight through on any exercise.

I also started reading "The China Study". If you don't know, this is a highly-referenced book written by a well-known cancer researcher and it claims that if you eat meat and dairy (animal protein) that you greatly increase your risk of cancer. It recommends a plant-based diet. More info to come…

And here was today's lunch:

· Salad - spinach, onion, mushrooms, 1/2 avocado, couscous, olives, chickpeas, red peppers, broccoli.

· 1 glass almond milk.

· 1 bowl of applesauce with 1oz almonds.

Back to work,

Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS

PS - Think you can't get enough protein from vegetarian foods?

After subjecting us to a month long vegan odyssey are you going to give us a month long carnivorous one?

CB, nice job on the 555! Truly an innovative and impressive looking session (with a hint of evil genius!). Makes all other versions of the Lightday Nutbag Workout pale in comparison.

The China Study has been widely debunked, e,g,

You are built to eat meat.

Actually eating "processed" meat will lead to cancer, but meat cooked using the least ingredients is OK (our primitive folks didn't have cancer by eating those bulky bison hundreds of years ago). Great workout by the way, I am planning to organize my exercise soon but because I'm still new to gym stuff, i'll let my instructor handle my routines...

We're actually built to eat either...we're allowed to choose our diet and be healthy either way. Our bodies have evolved to adapt to situations where there may not be meat available. He's just showing that you can still be in great shape and have the energy for these workouts if you choose vegan/vegetarian.

The KB 555 was great, did it this morning. The arms are still a little shaky 8 hours later.
