Memorial Day Meathead Workout

Though I'm Canadian, I will be joining my American friends and celebrating Memorial Day today with shortened work hours.

My Meathead Memorial Day workout was: My training: Power Clean, Deadlift, Front Squat, Good Mornings.

Today's www.TurbulenceTrainingFanpage.com fitness QnA:

Q: How to increase grip strength because my hands can't hold the dumbbells when doing leg exercises?

Answer:
First, if possible, use a barbell or harder version of the exercise (like 1 & 1/2 reps) that require less weight. Second, nothing makes you better at holding heavy dumbbells than holding heavy dumbbells. You can add 20 second heavy holds, 2-3 sets, at the end of your workouts.

Q: How to make side planks harder?

Answer:
Incorporate other exercises into it, like db lateral raises, or rows. Also, once you can do a side plank for 90 seconds straigth on each side, you don't really need to do them that often, except for warm-up/maintenance.

Q: If I am unable to go to college what other path is there to become a personal trainer you would recommend?

Answer:
Mentoring with the best trainer you can find. 2-3 years with a great trainer will make you better than 90% of personal trainers in the industry.

Q: Are there any books that you recommend on personal training, specifically how to deal and communicate with your clients?

Answer:
There are no books that cover that with respect to training, but Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People" is a good book for you.

Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
No matter how much you might feel like you are struggling, never give up. Never ever ever give in. Keep moving towards your vision. Never stand still. Believe in yourself.

If you fall "off the wagon", cut your losses, don't worry about it, and get right back on track. Immediately. It's minor damage that can be dealt with.

The mistakes of your past are not who you are now. No matter what you've done in your life you have a second chance that starts today. It is your time to choose who you will be and who you will become, for the rest of your life. You are certainly not too old to add value to the world, to give, create or inspire. If you need to, let the past go and start fresh, right here, right now.

"You can never actually control what others think of you, nor, from the self-image standpoint, should you concern yourself with it...you must expect scrutiny, just and unjust criticism, and be emotionally unaffected. But you can control your behaviour and response to it. That's your choice. No one else's choice. And no excuse replaces personal choice or responsibility." – Dan Kennedy

People want to be involved with other confident people who are doing big things and being positive and powerful. Be out there doing something great today.

For example, my dog is out taking action today. He wrote this marketing article for you because he thinks he's so smarts.

Should I say "Happy Memorial Day, Craig"? Interesting Q&A you shared in this post. I am a new visitor and was curious as to how often you post answers from your fans? It is a great idea. Nicely done.
