The Mile High City Crushed Me

Whoa, I just got crushed by the altitude here in Denver.

I started the day with a 4-minute interval run, after an old-man warm-up and mobility session, and the Mile High City laughed at me.

Back in Canadia, at sea level, I have no problem with 9.5 mph for 4 minutes at a 1% grade, but I could only manage 3.5 minutes at 9.1 mph and a 1% grade. Here's the science on the 4-minute interval:

Altitude... that sneaky ol' enemy of mine.

It was tough, but I feel great now.

Yesterday I managed one more garage gym workout back on the farm before heading to the airport. It went like this:

1A) DB Chest Press
1B) Band Pull

2A) Pause Pushups
2B) DB CSR

3A) DB Curls
3B) DB Triceps Extensions

BTW, we'd love to see you in our FB group where a lot of CTT's hang out and give accountability!

Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tip:

Remember the 3-C formula for 2017:
1) Control what you can.
2) Cope with what you can't.
3) Concentrate on what counts. Focus on what matters.

If you struggled in 2016, give up your past and create a new future.

If you had success in 2016, don't stop moving.

Complacency is death.

Always be moving ahead - in control - of your life!

Dream Big. Think Big. Act Big.

Truly believe that you can - and will - achieve great things.

Do not limit yourself.

Rock on,

Craig Ballantyne, CTT

PS - One more thing to remember...

Do NOT obsess about your scale weight. No one knows your weight but you. Millions of people have prematurely quit on transforming their lives because of an erroneous emphasis on bodyweight, rather than body fat and inches lost. Focus your energy and efforts on the right behaviors for your health. Focus on your CONFIDENCE and SELF-CARE in 2017!
