Home Gym Circuit Equipment Needed

Let's talk about the best workout equipment that you need to have at home.

Some things you might not know about.

For example, we all know about dumbbells, barbells, and kettlebells. These are all versatile. You could get an incredible body and even fantastic conditioning with anyone of these - combined with bodyweight exercises, of course. Each one will help you build muscle. Each will help you lose fat.

I don't have a barbell at home yet, but I have PowerBlocks (adjustable dumbbells) and six kettlebells (from 25 to 70 pounds).

But here are some of the unique tools I have.

1) A TRX Suspension Trainer - If you want to see how to use this like a pro, get www.suspensionrevolution.com from Dan Long. The guy knows more about TRX than anyone at TRX!!!

2) A Power Wheel - It's a great ab and pushup exercise tool.

3) A Slam Ball - This is a new discovery for me, and frankly, 20 slams are almost twice as hard as 20 kettlebell swings for conditioning. It's a really, really great addition to a home gym, provided:
a) You can make a little noise
b) You have a sturdy floor (or you could take it to a park)
c) You are not hungover (no need to add more thumping to a thumping headache, right?)

Minor Additions:

i) Resistance bands - these are okay, I just use them for warm-up and upper back exercises like rows, pull-aparts, etc.

ii) A jump rope - If you know how to use one, you can say goodbye to running forever.

That's what you need to get, and then you can do 20-25 minute circuits like this:

1) Slam Ball Toss and Sprint - 20 reps
2) KB Goblet Squat - 20 reps
3) Slam Ball Diagonal Chop Throw - 10/side
4) KB Swing - 20 reps
5) Jump Rope - 100 reps
- minimal rest when needed
- 3 to 4 rounds
