Don't think you can transform or change your life?
Bull!
You just need to change your attitude.
If there was a gun to your head, you could do it. Imagine that if you ate the chocolate bar, you’d lose everything.
You probably wouldn’t pick up the candy bar, would you?
And if the junk is NOT in your house, you won't eat it.
So get rid of it.
If family brings it in, then you put it in a place that is extremely difficult for you to access. A high cupboard, out of sight, out of mind. Research shows the harder it is to access, the less you eat. So stop accepting it and make it the next-best-thing-to-not-being-there-at-all.
You have to set up some type of repercussions. You must know the consequences. You must convince yourself the consequences are dire. You must rank the consequences at being extreme, and the benefits of being good as so worthwhile that you stop cheating. You must look at what can be, not what is. You can change and things can be different.
It’s up to you.
Watch this vision video and set your goals and create an action plan - you can do it!

300 rep quickie and New Transformation Contest
Today, a tale of two worlds. First, rapid results from short workouts. And then, we'll talk about making long-term changes in your life.
300 rep quickie - gave this to a very busy client today: 25 Total Body Extensions, 25 Kettlebell Swings, 25 Power Wheel Rollouts. 10 second rest between each. Just under 10 minutes.
Plus, my Carve Your Core workout is featured on Men's Health today
- http://www.menshealth.com/fitness/carve-your-core
Now here's something to consider. It's what I call "The Urgency Equation".
The Urgency Equation: Multiply your age by 365. Subtract that total from 25,000. That's about how many days you have left to take action.
There is no better time than now.
Today marks the start of the 17th TT Transformation Contest. And it NEVER hurts to enter... in some of the categories from the 16th Contest you could have lost a single pound and still won $250
- www.turbulencetrainingcontest.com
And yes, I'm joining in too, all because of a near death experience from last week. Find out more here
- http://www.ttfatloss.com/transformation-contest-time/
Be clear about your own goals in your own head. You must know what you are willing to do – and NOT willing to do – for success.
And remember...past struggles do not dictate future success.
Failure isn’t bad. Failure isn’t final. If there is one thing I know after having observed this crazy world for 37 years, it’s that you can SURVIVE almost anything and come back better and stronger than ever before. Don’t let the fear of failure stop you from achieving the success you deserve.

World's Worst Ab Workout
I am in so much pain...
...from filming 9.5 hours of Turbulence Training workouts today. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow when I have a HUGE - and awesome - announcement for you.
But today I want to start your week off right by giving you an incredible ab training update.
I was motivated to send you this after watching what might have
been the world's WORST ab workout on Thursday morning at the gym. A
45-year old guy (with a pot belly) did the following useless routine:
1) Medicine Ball Rotations Standing on Two Inflated Discs <= Lame
2) Broomstick Twists Standing on Two Inflated Discs <= Even Lamer!
2) Broomstick Twists Standing on Two Inflated Discs <= Even Lamer!
3) Russian Twists Lying on a Stability Ball <= Waste of Time
This went on for about 15 minutes. Do NOT do that. He'll never get
abs that way. Nor will anyone that relies on using boring crunches,
seated rotation machines, or ab infomercial gadget that they've bought
after midnight while watching TV.
All of those are a waste of time, energy, and money.
What you need is functional ab training.
Here's what I did to get my abs:
1) Unique "Stretch & Strengthen" ab exercises to build muscle
2) Scientifically proven core exercises for a chiseled core
3) Modified versions of classic abs exercises that are SAFER and BETTER
4) Metabolic Resistance Training
5) Simple Nutrition
2) Scientifically proven core exercises for a chiseled core
3) Modified versions of classic abs exercises that are SAFER and BETTER
4) Metabolic Resistance Training
5) Simple Nutrition
Now I'm not the only trainer to have used this approach to build
shredded six-pack abs. Other elite trainers agree with me, including
Tyler Bramlett, a trainer that has attended my Turbulence Training
Seminars and has ripped six-pack of his own.
If you're a guy or a gal, aged 20 or 55, you'll get FAST results with the UNIQUE and functional ab exercises on Tyler's site.
The key component of our NEW-school ab training is "Strength & Stability".
In the past, it always about hundreds of boring reps. But ab training has changed for the better.
Listen, it's NOT your fault if you've been chasing a six-pack with
workouts that include hundreds of crunches. That's what EVERYONE thought
was the right thing to do.
But it's NOT!
Hundreds of crunches and sit-ups will BORE you to tears and mess up
your back leaving you in chronic pain. (If you have back pain, it's
probably from that silly crunching or sit-up motion.)
So let's focus on what DOES work for abs.
In fact, let's focus on what will give you a set of WARRIOR abs - Lean, ripped, and chiseled.
Read about the rest of the workout program on page 2 HERE
That's another reason why they are a waste of time.

Remember what I told you recently about crunches?
According to Men's Health magazine, it would take 22,000 crunches to burn just one pound of fat.

Insane Workout Filming
Yes, you CAN lose fat on the weekend.
Now you don't have to be like me, and spend 9.5 hours filming Turbulence Training workouts. I personally went through TT Original Workout A, TT 2K3 Workout A, and TT 2K4 Workout A (all follow-along style), and then also filmed a few reps of each exercise from May's TT Meatheads 5x5 program.
Plus, I coached Certified Turbulence Trainers through 6 other workouts. I'm beat. But we have 6 more hours of filming tomorrow morning.
But it's all going to be worth it to deliver TT 2.0 to you soon.
Again, you shouldn't do that. But you should stay consistent with your training.
By the way, research shows that if you train with someone getting the results that you want to get, then you have a better chance of achieving those results. Choose your training partners wisely!
But more important, fat loss is about nutrition.
And on the weekend...the time when everyone who is struggling to lose fat falls off their nutrition plan...here's something to consider: If there is junk food in your house, you're going to eat it. So if you don't want to eat it, get it out of your house. Otherwise, accept the fact you're going to eat it eventually. That's just the way it is, and that's how good diets go bad. It's like putting water on a gremlin after midnight.
Maybe you need to replace pleasure from eating with pleasure from something else?
Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
“Over and over again, we lose site of what is important and what isn’t. We crave things over which we have no control, and not satisfied by the things within our control. We need to regularly stop and take stock; to sit down and determine within ourselves which things are worth valuing and which things are not.” – Epictetus, The Art of Living
“If you refuse to think of yourself as a victim – if you refuse to let your inner self be conquered by your external circumstances – you are likely to have a good life, no matter what turn your external circumstances take.” – William B. Irvine
Take full responsibility for your environment and behaviors. Everything you do sets you up for success or puts another obstacle in your way.

Sweet...just confirmed John “Roman” Romaniello and Adam “Born?” Bornstein for the www.TTSummit.com on June 21-22…and I’m buying all attendees a copy of their book, and YES, there will be a bonus book signing for all in attendance. What a weekend this is going to be!

Get Lean in 17 Minutes
Sing it with me...
"On the road again, I can't wait to get on the road
again, I can't wait to be doing burpees and spiderman pushups with my
friends, I can't wait to get on the road again"
And I am. As soon as I hit send on this email I'll be petting Bally the Dog good-bye,
leaving him out on the farm for the weekend with Grandma, and jumping
in my rented Chrysler 200 (fun car to drive!) to head down to Lapeer,
Michigan.
Once I get there, I'll be filming workout videos with Certified Turbuence Trainers, Brian Kalakay, Mikey "They have pancakes there, right?" Whitfield, and Shawna "I'm 50 years old and still fitter than you" Kaminski.
It's going to be a tough weekend. I'll be doing five TT workouts in
48 hours and will be exhausted by the time I drive home on Sunday. But
the end results will be a complete series of follow-along workout videos
for the new "Turbulence Training 2.0".
The problem is that we won't have this new product done until September.
So in the meantime, I have the perfect follow-along workout video program for you. It was created by Certified Turbulence Trainer, Brian Kalakay, who owns the gym we film at in Lapeer.
His program is called "Lean in 17", and you'll get
workouts that you can do anytime, anywhere to burn fat. And I've put
together the TOP TEN reasons you need to get these during his new
product celebration sale (that ends TONIGHT).
Drum roll, please...

Success and Your Vision
It's all about the kickbutt mindset tips today.
We can all get more done. We can all stop procrastinating and wasting time. What motivation do you need? Take action today!
“Cherish time, your most valuable resource. You can never make up the time you lose. It’s the most important value for any productive happy individual and is the only limitation to all accomplishment. To waste time is to waste your life. The most important choices you’ll ever make are how you use your time.” – Kekich #2
And remember...
Success comes in spurts. You'll work & feel like you're getting nowhere, & suddenly, WHOOOOOSH. Success. It comes in spurts. Never give up. Believe me, I know how you feel. But I discovered that success happens by taking action every day, strong and steady, by overcoming obstacles and powering through the dips, by trudging onward through tough days and getting energized by great days. The backbone for it all was my clear vision of what I wanted to achieve. Each action a small victory, each accomplishment another step closer to my big breakthrough.

Drop 2 sizes with Rachel Cosgrove and her new workout book
Rachel Cosgrove is back with a new book for women.
Unique Exercise Tips from Rachel Cosgrove -
1.
Combinations are where it's at! Include exercises that combine two
great exercises into one. Some examples are a Single Leg Romanian
Deadlift paired with a Single Arm Row or a Squat paired with a Push
Press. This way you get more done in less time really revving up your
metabolism, burning more calories while also building muscle to reinvent
your body. The program in Drop Two Sizes includes a number of
combination exercises to guarantee you will Drop Two Sizes.
2.
Putting a demand on your body that it's not used to is the key to
changing your body. If you have been afraid to lift challenging weights
you might be holding yourself back. Why would your body change if you
aren't putting a demand that is challenging promoting change! Start by
weighing your purse. Once you know how much your purse weighs that you
carry around daily - probably anywhere from 8-12 pounds, you'll know
about where to start with which dumbbells to grab to get your body to
change. Your body is used to your purse remember. Stop holding yourself
back and start changing!
3. Intensity is key
when it comes to raising your metabolism using interval training for
your cardio. How do you know if you are working hard enough? A fantastic
way to know is to use a heart rate monitor. Push yourself to hit 85% of
your max heart rate during the work period and stay there for about
15-20s, then rest and recover letting your heart rate come all the way
down to below 75% of max before you go again. Using a heart rate monitor
will guarantee you are getting an effective metabolic interval workout
that is specific and individualized for you.
4.
I've got the power! Power exercises are one of the priorities in my
programs. The goal of a power exercises is to move a load as fast as
possible from A to B. These explosive exercises are great for burning
fat, getting your metabolism up but also power is one of the first
qualities we lose as we age so extremely important to train. Make sure
you are including 1-2 power exercises in your program. Examples include
Push Press, Kettlebell Swings, Cleans, or Squat Jumps.
5.
Go overhead to work your core. Some of the best core exercises include
pressing a weight overhead while stabilizing at your core. As soon as
you lift a weight overhead your abs have to go to work to stabilize. As
you press a weight overhead think about keeping your core engaged along
with your glutes engaged. I should not see your ribs, really keeping
everything locked down as if you are prepared for a punch in the
stomach. Try a single arm overhead press, a kettlebell goblet overhead
press or a single arm overhead carry while walking from one end of the
room to the other.

Monday Muscle and Metabolism Workouts
A combination Meathead and metabolic workout is on tap for today.
First, it will be Bench Press and Rows. Then I'll be practicing the new Workout C from the "Original Phase" of TT 2.0.
It includes Kettlebell Swings, Spiderman pushups, front squats, and 7 other exercises. It's going to be tough. And this weekend we're going to film the entire program so that we can deliver it to TT clients for September (at the latest).
The new program includes more fantastic finishers, like this one that I did in NYC on the weekend:
Kettlebell Swing – 30 seconds
Cross-Body Mountain Climber – 30 seconds
Burpee – 15 seconds
• Rest 30 seconds and repeat 2 more times for a total of 3 circuits.
In the meantime...
Congratulations to Connie Spencer of Synergy Kettlebell in Dixon, IL. Connie is our newest Certified Turbulence Trainer! Welcome to the 10 Million Mission - www.turbulencetrainingcertification.com
Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tip:
“Life’s easy when you live it the hard way…and hard if you try to live it the easy way.” – Kekich Credo #4
“Success is simple once you accept how hard it is.” - Craig Ballantyne
That means, if you understand and accept that success requires sacrifice, only then you will be psychologically prepared to make those sacrifices.
With the right mindset in place, then success becomes simply a matter of following proven blueprints…and never, ever giving up on what is important to you.

6 Minute Workout Video
Ok, you've never watched a workout video like this before...
I'm surprised the guy didn't get arrested. (By the way, it's one of
my Certified Turbulence Trainers doing an awesome bodyweight
workout...in a really weird location.) Watch the free follow-along
workout video here:
It's a kick-butt, NO-equipment circuit workout that you can use
right now to start your day, as a mid-day break, or a great finisher to
end off a traditional Turbulence Training workout.
And I'm sure you'll agree that his "Punching Push-up" is pretty
cool, right? But that's not the reason he almost gets arrested. Find out
more here:

Bad Scene in the NYC Gym
On Saturday morning I went to a Crunch Fitness gym in NYC (I was staying on the lower east side), and my workout was great.
I
did 5x5 squats, followed by a brand new "TT 2.0 30-minute thermogenesis
workout that included Bulgarian Split Squats, DB Incline Presses, and
Suspension Rows in a circuit, and an intense finisher to end the
workout. (Details below.)
But
while I was leaving, I watched a gym customer argue with an employee.
It turns out the customer wanted to return an unopened supplement, and
the gym employee was refusing.
The
poor customer was distraught. She had spent a lot of money on the
product, and just wanted a return. She must have found out that the
supplement wasn't going to help her lose fat.
Now she's out $50 and will probably never go back to the gym.
I hate hearing - and watching - stories like that.
Especially
when she could have gotten FREE fat loss advice from experts like Dr.
K. If you haven't Dr. Kareem Samhouri's article on how to lose fat fast,
don't do anything else today until you have.
Dr.
Kareem (or "Dr. K" as he is known in the fitness world) has figured out
a way to 'interval train' weight loss and fat loss, over 14 days, and decided to lay it all out for you right here in this article:
14 Days to Looking 10 POUNDS Lighter <--- plan="" step-by-step="" strong="">I'll be back with some very cool workout videos and articles later this week.--->
Have a great weekend,
Craig Ballantyne, CTTCertified Turbulence Trainer
PS - Now about that fat loss finisher that I did...
It kicked my butt. And here's what it was:
Kettlebell Swing - 30 seconds
Cross-Body Mountain Climber - 30 seconds
Burpee - 15 seconds
Rest 30 seconds and repeat 2 more times for a total of 3 circuits.
Kettlebell Swing - 30 seconds
Cross-Body Mountain Climber - 30 seconds
Burpee - 15 seconds
PPS - Combine that finisher...

Crunch Workout and the book party for Roman
Today's workout at Crunch gym in NYC: Squats + TT 2.0 Advanced Workout A.
Here's a photo of me with Isabel De Los Rios at John Romaniello's crazy packed "Man 2.0" book launch party.

Congrats to Roman and his co-author Adam Bornstein. Well deserved success. The book is going to help a lot of people fix their health and get a better body.
The party was great and I got to meet "Mama Roman", and hang with Tim Ferriss, Jay Ferruggia and his wife, Brad Pilon, Vinny D., Roman's fiance, and Isabel and her team. Oh, and Mike Geary too!
Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
Struggling to make progress in any area in life? Here's the solution. Get up earlier. It's not a magic pill, but it works. Just like hard work.
Who'd have thought you had to work hard and get started early to succeed in life? It's not politically correct, but it's #truth.
And you'll be so proud of yourself when you finally switch to this lifestyle of productivity and Getting Stuff Done.
If you're not willing to get up 15-30 minutes earlier to work on something important to you, then you're just not ready to succeed. #truth

Losing Weight Fast
Should you lose weight slowly or quickly -- what's more effective?
Most people teach people to lose 1-2 pounds per week, and stabilize their weight over time, leading to more permanent results. This is what they are taught in school, and what makes logical sense to them. Slow and steady wins the race, right?
WRONG.

WRONG.
Be careful with this advice -- over the last 8 years, training tens of thousands of clients both in person and online, and developing a world-class network of health professionals,
Dr. Kareem, a nutrition expert that I've known since all the way back in 2006, has learned that 1-2 pounds/week can be effective... but there's a better and more promising way to lose weight.
It's the same deal as with HIIT (high-intensity interval training). We used to think cardio was the most effective way to lose weight. But now we know that if we have 'sprint' periods and 'rest' periods for weight loss, rather than within an individual workout, we can accelerate results.
In doing so, quick results produce higher levels of motivation in our clients, and our likelihood of producing long-term results go up.

Great Chest and Back Workout
Great workout today at 4:30am at the Four Seasons gym in Denver. It's a decent hotel gym, and I hit chest and back.
This is #meathead traveling!
DB Press - 4x15-20 (with max DB's in the gym, 60"s)
Pulldown - 4x15
DB Incline Press - 3x5 with a 5 second lowering phase
DB CSR - 3x12
Finished up with some cable chest press and rows.
Good training = a great body. Here's proof. Check out this amazing transformation from our ETR $100K Contest:
"Elissa had her "aha" moment, and decided to take the steps to make a permanent change. "I never thought I'd be categorized as obese--does anyone?" Elissa's dramatic transformation won her $2,500, but now she faces a new challenge, getting others to accept the new her. See her amazing pictures here:

It takes work to have and live by a moral code, but it takes even more work – along with frustration and failure – to not live by a moral code. Here is mine, what is yours?

Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tip:
Do great things. Show the world that there are indeed POSITIVE people out there...that you care...that SOMEONE cares...that there is hope...that if you persist and never give up on what is important to you, that you CAN make progress...that there will be better days...that after the darkness there comes a dawn.
If you do all of this, and open your heart and care for others and even support perfect strangers, your world will open up to enormous opportunity and gratitude.

Unique circuit workout
Roman is super busy with his book launch
(it #14 on Amazon so far!), but when I asked him to create a Density
Circuit just for TT readers, he was all over it. The workout has a
UNIQUE twist.
Here's what he gave us (including a great explanation of why this works so well):
"Hey Craig & TT Readers,
Density Circuit Training is, very simply, a take on MRT that focuses on how much work you do in a given time frame.
The goal is to do more work in less time.
Striving for this makes each workout a bit of a challenge, which is
both fun and motivating. Each time you repeat a workout, the goal will
be to get more work done than the session before without increasing your
training time.
We group your exercises (as supersets or mini circuits) and assign
each group a time frame. You'll do as many reps as you can in that
period for each lift, and work to increase that number over time.
To do it, you'll have to shave down your rest periods and push
yourself harder, which will result in getting stronger, improving
endurance, and burning more calories.
In four weeks, you should be seeing the beginnings of a body that's
evolved to the next level. One of the best parts about it is density
based training increases testosterone levels.
1) Goblet Squat - 45 seconds
2) Push Up - 30 seconds
3) Bent over row - 30 seconds
4) Reverse Lunges - 45 seconds
5) Mountain Climber - 40 seconds
Perform exercises 1-5 sequentially, resting 30-60 seconds between each. For each exercise, perform as many reps as possible for during the prescribed duration. After the last exercise, rest 3-4 minutes.
The UNIQUE TWIST
Increase the weight on all exercises by 5% and perform the circuit
again, this time trying to beat the number of reps you did the first
time, on all exercises. (Note: in the case of the pushup, elevate your
feet to make it harder.)

Plan for this
Plan ahead. Do your shopping and cooking and meal prep on the weekends, so that during your busy week you have your meals ready…and you avoid vending-machine regret. Always use a structured, professionally workout to guide you. This avoids workouts where you don’t know what to do and wander aimlessly through the gym.
And prep for dealing with those folks at work...
There will be times when people will try to embarrass you into joining them at Pizza Hut for an all you can kill yourself buffet. And listen, if you’re fine with accepting mediocre results, by all means, you can go and have a good time. I’m not here to force you into submission to never having fun. But just remember, you’ll pay the consequences. Just as important…Discover why other people are trying to sabotage your plans. What are their motives?
Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
There are 4 steps to becoming more successful...What’s missing?
1) Become more efficient
2) Become more effective (skilled)
3) Identify the destination/goal/endgame/outcome
4) Put the 4 pillars in place to support all of this (accountability, support, incentives, deadlines).

New Rules of Circuit Training
Yesterday I received a shocking email.
Catherine Gordon, Certified Turbulence Trainer, had a new client
mention that her last trainer recommended "an hour of slow cardio in the
fat burning zone" to lose weight. Catherine was as surprised as I was.
We can't believe that other trainers still give this advice.
It's crazy. Really crazy. I just can't believe this misinformation persists. It's 2013, not 1983!
Not only are there New Rules for Fat Loss, but there's even New Rules for Circuit Training.
I learned a lot about making simple circuits more metabolic and
effective from one of my best friends in the fitness industry, John
"Roman" Romaniello.
And new research published in the May 2013 issue of Men's Health
magazine shows that as little of 33 minutes of fat burning resistance
training, like the kind you get in John's circuits, can boost
post-exercise metabolism by 363 calories!
John calls this form of training Metabolic Density Circuits, and we
use these in the TT Clash of the Titans workouts (that YOU can get for
FREE when you get John's new hardcover, REAL book that WILL hit the NY
Times Best-Sellers list this week).
PLUS, in John's book alone, you'll get:
- John's NEWEST 16-week, 4-phase fat burning diet and workout program
- 30 total fat-burning, metabolism boosting workouts
- 16-weeks of DONE-for-YOU meal plans
- The EXACT plan to optimize your hormones to boost fat burning
And then get your FREE bonuses by emailing me your book receipt to:
TurbulenceTrainingHelp@gmail.com
Then you'll get these:
Arnold Schwarzenegger himself even wrote the forward to Roman's
book. Pretty cool, huh? Heck, Roman even creates workouts for him! For
the Terminator! Dang...you're going to learn so much from this book.
Almost as cool as the combination of getting the book AND these free workouts. So
grab your copy, help Roman hit the NY Times best-seller list, and then

Deadift Workout and Bodyweight Fat Burner
Great Sunday here in Toronto. The sun is finally shining.
Hardcore workout for me today:
- Snatch (3x5)
- Deadlift (5x5)
- Military Press (5x5)
- Good Morning (4x8)
Plus I designed six new TT 2.0 workouts. We'll be filming those on April 27-29th and releasing this new product in September. It will be my best work yet!
In the meantime, here's a bodyweight finisher designed for a client today:
1) Total body extensions - 8 rounds (20-10)
2) Close-grip pushups 4 rounds (20-10)
3) Jumping Jacks 8 rounds (20-10)
4) Mountain climbers 4 rounds (20-10)
BTW, a reader was asking, what's the difference between the TT program and the Home Workout Revolution system? I answered:
"Really different, because you get follow along videos. The workouts are more focused on fat loss and conditioning than strength. Plus, ZERO equipment. No balls, nothing."

TT Transformation Contest is OVER?
Today (midnight) is the deadline to submit your entries for the 16th Turbulence Training Transformation Contest.
Here are all of the details on how to submit your entries
- http://www.turbulencetrainingcontest.com/rules.shtml
Anyone can win.
Remember - Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
Today was a bit of a whacky day out on the farm. A crazy ice storm knocked out power and covered my truck in ice...it took 20 minutes to get the back hatch to open to grab my TRX. Trees were down, traffic lights were out, it was a wild scene.
Eventually I did this workout:
And grab more workouts at:
All of that was AFTER my morning writing and meditation routine.
Every morning when I get up on time and early, and sit down and crank out two hours of productive work, it contributes to my belief that I’ve “beaten the game”. To have accomplished more than 99% of people will accomplish, all before 99% of them are even awake, gives me a huge competitive advantage, sense of accomplishment, and more meaning in my life.
Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
"There are two types of pain you will go through in life, the pain of discipline and the pain of regret. Discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs ton.” – Jim Rohn
But...
Don’t worry about things you can’t control. Focus your energy on the things you can change.
Just focus on what you can control,

How to figure out if your diet and workout are working
April 11th is the 101st day of the year.
Are you on track to accomplish what you want in 2013?
Only 264 days left. Let's go!
You know, there are 4 steps to becoming more successful...
1) Become more efficient
2) Become more effective (skilled)
3) Identify the destination/goal/endgame/outcome
4) Put the 4 pillars in place to support all of this (accountability, support, incentives, deadlines).
So get started!
Now if you're not sure about something, particular in your workout, here's how you find out what works.
You know that question you have about training or nutrition?
There's only one way to find out the answer.
Step #1 - Make the change for four weeks and measure everything you can.
Step #2 - Change one variable (i.e. add BCAA's or change your workout time or change your fast time) and measure everything you can.
Step #3 - Compare the results. Just make sure you only change one major variable...otherwise you can't make the best comparison.
You'll learn a lot that way.
My #meathead workout today: Bench, DB CSR, Chin, DB Incline, DB Row-Shrug combo. Good times!
Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
If something is really important to you, then continue to make progress on it EVERY day. The best is first thing in the morning...but no matter what, make sure that before you go to bed at night, progress is made.
You can't give up now. Not after all you've done. Keep going. Keep on pushing. Never give up on what is important to you. #truth
Ok, great session. Be back again before the weekend. Keep on pushing, stay strong, and get stronger!
Success is yours,

Kettlebell and bodyweight circuit
No lifting for me, but I put a good friend through a great circuit. At least we were good friends. I hope we still are after this!
Kettlebell Swings - 20
Lunges - 20
Med Ball Slams - 10
Bodyweight Squats - 20 resp
Rest as little as possible between exercises and rounds of the circuit. We just kept going for 10 rounds. But if you do this, take more rest as needed, and if you're a beginner, do only 10 reps per exercise and no more than 5 rounds.
Train hard but safe but hard.
If you want more dumbbell and abs exercises, grab this today:

Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
The fastest and easiest way to make your life better is to help make someone else's life better. You cannot out-give the universe. You can try, but you'll always fail. And that's the greatest failure you'll ever experience.

Truth About Abs
Abs. Everyone has them. YES, even you.
No matter what level of 'insulation' you have over your
six-pack, I guarantee your abs are under there.
But NO amount of crunching will bring them to the surface.
Yesterday, I watched three nice folks waste almost an hour in
their workouts at the YMCA in my hometown of Stratford,
Ontario. (This gym was featured in Bieber's movie, in case your
kids ever made you watch that, LOL).
These folks did endless sit-ups, and then diagonal sit-ups, and then
the ab crunch machine, and then floor crunches of all kinds.
It was really sad.
You know why?

It was really sad.
You know why?
Because NONE of those ab exercises work!
And here's the truth...
They've had abs before...just like YOU have...back when
you were slim in college or high school.
But tell me, how many sit-ups and crunches did you do then?
NONE, of course.

Of course, you didn't do any 'planking' or 'stability ball rollouts'
back then either.
No ab exercise is magic.
But you were active. Moving. Doing interval training while
playing sports or helping out around the house with yardwork.

Deadlift and Take Action
After three days in cool Cleveland, I got back home last night around 7:30pm, but errands and putting stuff away kept me up late. I think that caused my workout to suffer today. I also didn't eat enough yesterday.
Although Friday I did. My real food dinner at Lola restaurant in Cleveland was their Rib eye + cauliflower side dish + mushroom side dish. One of our group got their "french toast dessert". While I didn't have any, everyone else loved it.
Today's Training:
Barbell Snatch - 3x5
Deadlift - 5x5
Military Press - 5x5
Pull-up - 3 sets 2 reps short of failure
Bulgarian Split Squat - Same as pullups
Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
No matter how difficult your situation is right now, there has been someone, somewhere, in worse circumstances that was able to overcome their demons and go on to achieve the same – or even greater goals – than the ones you are pursuing right now. You must never, ever, ever give up on what is important to you.
“From this instant on, vow to stop disappointing yourself. Separate yourself from the mob. Decide to be extraordinary and do you what you need to do – now.” – Epictetus, The Art of Living
Wherever you are today, be present. Enjoy the people you are with, the food you are eating, the work you are doing, the weather you have, and the opportunities that exist.
“No one gets old by surprise.” – Kekich Credo #84 ….. We all have things we want to accomplish. We all have dreams and goals of a better life that we want to live. Yet for some of us, the steps we need to take to get there are always “put off until tomorrow”. Take action today!

22000 crunches or this?
According to Men's Health magazine, it takes more than
22,000 crunches to burn a pound of belly fat.

This is the day to change and do these workouts
Stop saying you want to change if you’re not actually going to do anything about it.
If you want to change, take action today, even if it is just the tiniest step in the right direction.
Visit a website to learn more about how to achieve your goal. Buy a book. Start reading the ones you have. Contact people who can help you.
Take that first action step.
And then take another one tomorrow, and another the day after that. Every single day from now on take another step forward toward your goal, toward the change you want to make. Never stop and never give up.
Remember...
No matter how difficult your situation is right now, there has been someone, somewhere, in worse circumstances that was able to overcome their demons and go on to achieve the same – or even greater goals – than the ones you are pursuing right now. You must never, ever, ever give up on what is important to you.
Today, being a #Meathead was important to me.
My #Meathead Workout: Bench, DB CSR, Chinups, DB Incline, Hammer Row.
My chest workout today was great. Also, check out
- http://www.ttfatloss.com/best-chest-workout-to-build-muscle/
And here's a great conditioning challenge for you:
600 Rep Challenge
1) 25 Kettlebell Swings
2) 25 Bodyweight Squats
3) 10 Med Ball Slams
- Repeat for 10 rounds with 30 seconds between rounds.
- Train hard but safe! Rest longer if needed.
Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tip:
When you take action, particularly bold action, the boundaries of what you believe to be possible (your belief system) expand. Which, in turn, gives you the capacity to consider new ideas, new possibilities, and new concepts that you previously thought to be impossible. - Robert Ringer

Never do this in a workout
On the weekend, while hanging out with 2-year old Lily Marion, I
learned that one thing you should never do is make a baby cry. But
that's what I did on Monday. Ooops.
The story about that in just a moment...but first, here's another thing you should NEVER do in an intense workout.
Vomit.
Listen, anyone can make themselves puke in a workout. But when I
hear people bragging about this, it makes ME sick. It's wrong, wrong,
wrong.
That's NOT the purpose of a workout. That's not good training.
In fact, that's BAD program design.
When it comes to hard workouts, MORE does not equal better.
You don't need to train at 110% intensity all of the time. If you
try, you'll end up injured or exhausted. And then you'll miss your
workouts and end up in worse shape than ever before.
Check this out...it's a lesson on what happens when you train too much:
Even pro athletes only train with High-Intensity three to four
times per week, and they often only get 15-20 minutes of court time or
ice time in the NBA or NHL.
And then they focus on RECOVERY. This is so overlooked in most
programs, but not in mine. That's why you only train 3-4 times per week
with my system, and in programs from other smart trainers like Yuri
Elkaim.
That's why I recommend watching Yuri's Warrior Workout video. He'll
show you how to do an intense workout to get you in wicked shape,
but...
Always good times with Lily.
PPS - Get more Warrior Fit Workouts like that one here:
Without killing yourself in the process.
The result? You'll get BETTER results with fewer injuries and less fatigue.
Part of the beauty of this NEW program is that it's only 4 weeks
long and can also be used as an "injection" or "stimulus package" to rev
up your body, stimulate your metabolism, and get you out of a rut.
In fact, Yuri's so certain about the results you'll get with his
program that you won't pay a single penny if you aren't in the best
shape of your life in just 4 weeks.
As long as you follow the plan you're pretty much guaranteed
incredible fitness results. If want to get in amazing shape in just 4
weeks without burning out,
overtraining, getting injured, or hitting a plateau, this is a great
option.
And because Yuri is a smart trainer, he's giving all TT readers 50% off his Warrior Workout today.

PS - Now let me tell you the rest of the story...
...I started earlier. As you know, I spent Easter weekend visiting
my friend Joel Marion (it was his birthday) down in Tampa, Florida.
Actually, I just went to hang out with his daughter, Lily. But when
it's time to go, I'm always sad to leave the Marion household.
As it turns out, Lily Marionz was also sad. When she found out I
had left and gone home, she started to cry, and kept on saying, "Craig.
No home. No home."
Very cute. I'll be back soon, but who knows if she'll even remember me.
Always good times with Lily.
And with Joel in the garage gym that he has set up. I put us
through this workout, that I call, "The Joel Marion 600 Rep Challenge".
It's another great one, and so simple.
The Joel Marion 600 Rep Challenge
1) 25 Kettlebell Swings
2) 25 Bodyweight Squats
3) 10 Med Ball Slams
- Repeat for 10 rounds with 30 seconds between rounds.

Two Lifts Tomorrow
Off day today. Then back at a combo of bench and deadlift on Wednesday.
Why both lifts in the same workout?
Because I'm going to Cleveland for an ETR-related business seminar on Wednesday afternoon until Saturday night with little access to a real gym. So I'll get these two lifts in and then squat upon my return to Toronto next Sunday morning.

Keep on pushing, start your day with one positive success step. Don't do anything else until you make progress on something that is important to you!

New Monthly Diet and Workout Challenges
Monday. The 1st. PERFECT time to take action. Whatever it is you want to achieve, start today and never give up if it is important to you.
Are you willing to do what it takes to reach your goal? It’s okay if you’re not. If that’s the case, go and change your goals. Sometimes we chase the wrong achievements. BUT...if you are serious about success, are you willing to do what it takes? And are you doing it? If not, why NOT? Why aren’t you doing the things you know you should be doing?
Today's Joel Marion Gym Training for me:
10 rounds of KB Swings, Bodyweight Squats, and Med ball slams.
For more challenging workouts, visit:
www.ChallengeWorkouts.com
Now it's time to head back to Toronto...and then later this week I'm off to Cleveland to visit a couple of clients, including a guy that is in training to be an astronaut. Pretty cool stuff.
Real food April started early with Easter Dinner...turkey, (giant) sweet potato, broccoli, and green beans. Then some fruit (strawberries, grapes, and canteloupe).
Today's Kickbutt Mindset Tips:
Don’t worry about things you can’t control. Focus your energy on the things you can change.
People want to hang around winners. They want, and need, leaders – so lead them. Have the courage to take the criticism while staying focused and making the right decisions for you and your team.
Stay strong,

PS - Struggling to make progress on...
...any area in life?
Here's the solution.
Get up earlier.
It's not a magic pill, but it works.
Just like hard work.
Who'd have thought you had to work hard and get started early to succeed in life?
It's not politically correct, but it's #truth.
And you'll be so proud of yourself when you finally switch to this lifestyle of productivity and Getting Stuff Done.
