Blender Drinks Gone Bad: Part II

Another day, another blender drink gone bad. I guess that's what happens when you just randomly throw ingredients into a blender.

Here's how it went down...

It was a wacky witch's brew blender drink this morning:

  • 1/4 of a watermelon
  • 1 peach
  • 1 banana
  • frozen spinach
  • almond milk
  • 1oz almonds...

then realized it looked weird so I added

  • some blueberries
  • 1 tbspn almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons oats

In the end it turned out okay, but wasn't a lot of flavor to it.

After the blender drink, I went to the gym...on the way there I walked by a little girl selling lemonade for 50 cents, so I bought a cup, gave her $1 and told her to keep the change. I had a sip, but it wasn't very good.

The best lemonade stand I ever visited was in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, where a little girl practically had a professional lemonade stand. She even had a visitor's guest book signed by people from all around the world. It was very cute.

Alright, so back to the workout...

1A) Overhead squats
1B) Pullups

2A) DB Chest press - 95x3x6
2B) Bodyweight rows

3A) Olympic Squats - 2x6
3B) Hanging leg raises - 3x7
3C) Dips

After workout the workout I could have used that glass of lemonade, but instead I had to walk home to eat, where I had:

A bowl of raw oat groats mixed with 1 delicious peach, some blueberries, melted cashew butter, and almond milk.

Then I did an interview with Scott Colby about fat loss and the vegetarian diet...

Good stuff,

Craig

PS - Veggie Meal Plans hit the shelves next week, and will feature my e-book, "The Lazy Man's Guide to Vegetarian Eating".

Hi, Craig.

I just wanted to get your quick thoughts about something I read today in T-Nation's intro to their upcoming "super" program called "I, Bodybuilder."

While to some degree it is blatant ad copy, there have also been plenty of respectable coaches writing for that site, which appears to muddy the waters. Here is the quote from the article:

"Oh, I'm sure there will be a couple of dozen pus-filled Internet moron-trolls who can't wait to prove how they 'got nothing from loaded insulin surges and HTH, and all you really need is 'chocolate milk and a banana.'

"If you exclude those mad-at-the-world messes, we believe that legitimate failures will be all but nonexistent."

I think they are referring to this:

Hi Craig,
It's good to try new stuff so you know what you do and don't like. Let me just say that I've been putting all your shake experiments on my do not like list, so thanks!!! They say a really wise man learns from other people's mistakes!
Of course, in my book, spinach and fruit mixed with various 'butters' don't go well together. It's either all fruit or all vegies for me.
Cheers,
Jason.

Craigg,

Whats your take on this whole 'keep your fats low after working out' hype? Many people focus simply on carbs/protein post work out but I notice you use many forms of (good) fats post workout too (which I personally support because whats better then a almond butter sandwich with a banana post workout?!?!).

No need to worry if you have some fat in your meal after the workout
