Weight Loss Motivation Tips
Well, not financially, but I could retire fully satisfied with my "work here on earth" thanks to the incredible interview I just finished up with Dax Moy.
It's called "Mastering the Fat Loss Mindset", and its over one hour of Dax's secrets on how to overcome all obstacles and achieve success in all areas of life.
Sure, we focus on fat loss for most of the interview, but he'll show you how to achieve any goal you've set, whether it's meeting the person of your dreams or getting a better job.
"This year i got to the point where I had achieved my 'big' goals, while not quite drifting I did get a promotion in August this year, I had lost focus. You only need to read my workout log in recent months to see the number of release cards i had given myself for not doing this or that. Then i sat down & read "Mastering the Fat Loss mindset transcript with Dax moy". One word does it: "Pow"! Well it hit me square between the eyes, its an extremely powerful read, not only does it wake you up but it gives you the tools to make the changes. As I said no guessing what I will be doing this weekend - re-reading the doc making note of the things I need to do & re-invigorating those big passion goals."
Alex Buckley
It's powerful, powerful stuff. And essential reading for anyone wise enough to set goals for the new year. I hope that means you!

#1 Thing You Need to Do for Fat Burning in 2008
Things are starting to heat up - people aren't waiting for New Year's to start losing fat. And this is something I like to see. So let's get you started on the right track...if you have some time off this week, sit down and plan out your goals (fitness, family, finance, & fun) for 2008 this week.
After all, what is the best thing someone can do in 2008 if they want to lose fat?
It's planning. You have to put a plan together.
Get a good workout plan that suits your lifestyle, physical interests, time constraints, equipment availability, and training history. Don't do a heavy cardio program if you don't have a lot of time and hate doing cardio.
If you only have time for 3 short workouts per week, then grab Turbulence Training, the workout you can do at home or the gym with minimal equipment.
Click HERE to lose fat with Turbulence Training today!
At the same time, plan your nutrition. Figure out what eating schedule works for you. Address your weak points and work around them. Get rid of all the bad foods in your house and replace them
with good, fat fighting foods.
Look at your schedule and determine the two best times each week to spend an hour or so preparing your meals for the next coming days (for example, an hour on Sunday and an hour on Wednesday).
If you have your plan set out, all you have to do is follow it. Once you commit, stick to it. Don't bounce from program to program, or diet to diet.
You'll even benefit from planning your workout music in your Ipod, making sure you never grow bored of this vital motivation. Or plan to go to the gym when other people striving for the same goals will be there. Surround yourself with social support.
Also, plan in "mental breaks", such as cheat meals (once per week), and fun workouts - such as taking a long hike on the weekend or replacing one workout every month with a sport or workout with a friend.
This plan will be your guide to success. Do it once and you don't have to spend mental energy on it every week.
Plan for success and you'll lose fat permanently in 2008.

PS - Turbulence Training is the best fat loss plan in the world.
"Craig's workouts were fun and challenging - I didn't dread going to the gym and I wasn't overly sore after our sessions. Much like my trainer in LA, Craig's workouts were always different: the
exercises, the supersets, the weights...the combination of elements always varied and, therefore, I never got bored or felt like I was in a workout rut. And my co-stars couldn't believe how great my
arms looked, thanks to Craig helping me do my first chin-up. Thanks Craig!"
Rachel Nichols, actress, "Charlie Wilson's War"
"I have been in love with Turbulence Training ever since I started. I am 6'3", 28/M and my starting weight/body fat% was 208 pounds and 18.4% body fat. After 22 weeks of TT, I am now down to 190 lbs and 10.8% body fat."
Nick Walters, New York, NY
"I've done just about everything from Turbo Jam, P90X, to trying to piece together my own workout, but didn't get the results I've seen with Turbulence Training."
Andrea Dunham
"Been using TT 4 years, love the newsletters. I use the 2K3 all the time, started off with the original ages ago. I lost 35 pounds in around 2 years & i'm 38 years old!"

Transformation Cheat Meals
On Tuesday, I interviewed New Jersey transformation expert John Alvino for one of my New Year's bonuses (this will go out to all TT clients, past and present). Today, I'm flying down to New Jersey to train at John's gym with Jay Ferruggia.
Now John and I covered 2 important points in his interview regarding what is known as a "cheat meal". You'll see these recommended in almost every diet plan, and as John says, the cheat meal is there largely for a psychological break from dieting.
Here are John's 2 rules about cheat meals...
1) John includes one cheat meal per week in your diet program. And the cheat meal ends, as John says, "when your ass leaves the seat". That means it is one sitting. No going back for seconds. So if you order a pizza, eat till you are full, but once you get up from the table, that's it. No more pizza. Throw it out, give it away, whatever. The cheating is over.
2) If you are a smaller person, or have a slow metabolism, John will often cap the cheat meal at a certain calorie level. For example, in the above situation, you would be allowed 500 calories of pizza. Once you eat 500 calories worth of your cheat meal, that's it. Get rid of the rest and get back on your plan.
In the "Transformation Experts Bonus", I cover cheat meals with 2 other experts, Erik Ledin and Brad Pilon. Look for their opinions in the bonus ebook available Dec. 31st through Turbulence Training and www.TTmembers.com

Women Love Using Turbulence Training
"Dear Craig, I would like to take the time to thank you for changing my life. Over the course of a few months I lost over 25 lbs through long hours of cardio. I looked great, felt awesome, but then I hit a plateau. I stopped loosing weight and getting results. Not to mention that the long hours spent at the gym working out aren't exactly convenient w/ two children under 5.
Then I found Turbulence Training by accident. I was incredibly leery of spending that much money, but it's the best $$$ I have spent in my life.
Within one week of starting to do the exercises, one week mind you, I felt a difference in my body right away. I have now stuck to doing it 4 weeks and I feel fantastic. My body is so strong and healthy and my self esteem is at an all time high. I no longer worry about not being able to fit in a workout because TT is so effective and takes so little time that I can always fit it in even on the busiest days. I highly recommend TT to anyone that wants to get results and fast.
Last night I was able to do pushups, real pushups, not girlie pushups like I've been doing all my life. I have never done a single pushup the right way, so imagine my surprise when I discovered that I can do real pushups. Thank you Craig!"
Hilda Rivas
"Hey there Craig, I am a newly certified personal trainer however, I have always trained family and friends before being certified. I am 33 and I have had one child (7 years old). I have always trained with weights and thoroughly believe in using weights to build muscle, get ride of fat and build bone density but, your TT bodyweight workouts are absolutely fantastic.
I have been using TT 4 week workout for the last month and I now fit into jeans that have been in my closet for at least two years! I was already fit to begin with but could not seem to loose those last few inches to make my clothes fit the way I like them to. I am now using your program on a couple of new clients I just started to train last week, I only have 6 weeks to get them into tip top shape before they are off to Hawaii but I know using your program will do the trick.
I am going to next purchase your TT to use with dumbbells as I would like to put on a little more muscle and possibly compete in a figurecompetition. Once again, keep up the great work! Your programs make it happen!"

true. unique. fun. fit
"To begin with, I am a 48 year old woman who has been on some sort of diet plan since 1987 (that's when my son was born) I've tried all sorts of exercise programs; Curves, The Firm, 6 weeks, Numerous Beach Body programs, not to mention Atkins, Slim Fast, Nutrisystem, low fat, low carb, low calorie etc. You name it I've tried it and probably bought it!
3 weeks ago I stumbled across Craig's Dark Side of Cardio. Of course, being the sucker that I am, I bought the program. But wait, here it is 3 weeks later and I've lost 10 pounds! (started at 173) My clothes are looser!. What is happening here. A program that actually delivers! A program without false promises! A program that doesn't make you workout 5-7 days a week but only 3X for 45 minutes!
I've got to tell you, I was certainly skeptical because of past history, but WOW, I can't believe this. I tried on a skirt that I couldn't get past my hips last winter and I wore it today!!! I love this program; it's fast, fun and complete. Thank you Craig!"
Kelley Howard
"Hello, I just finished my first month following this program. I lost 5lb, which is not bad at all. I was also tracking my measurements I lost 1 inch on my waist and hips and breast and 1 3/4 from my thighs. I am also starting to have muscle definition and my clothes are starting to fit loose. I'm extremely satisfied and this is only the first month.
Anyway my message is to thank you so much for you excellent program, I did a very thorough research before buying it and am very glad I found it. There are so many scams out there. I hope you get to reach more people because the claims made on your webpage are true. I cannot wait to start the intermediate phase and see the results.
My ultimate goal is to lose another 19lbs and especially tone my muscles. I know I will accomplish this. Once again thank you, Happy Holidays Season."
Rosimar Del Valle
"I have been using the TT for 4 weeks now. I'm a 44 yrs old female 5 ft 2 & 67kg. Previously have had been exercising 5-6 days a week, an hour at a time (or more) usually Cardio-like Billy Blanks, Boxersise and of course running.
I was amazed by the after burn I got from the first TT workout. I have only lost 1.5 kg , but I admit I haven't given up on my favorite foods Beer and Ice-cream. I have lost a couple of cm's off my waist and hips but gained muscle on my arms and thighs. I am really impressed with my strength gain in such a short time.
Turbulence Training suits me. I enjoy working out alone and I like the challenge of feeling the improvement.e.g. originally half of my pushups were on my knees now all are on my toes. I feel ready to move up to the next level, I can't wait."

Politically Incorrect Secrets to Avoid Getting Fat
I was at a big event last week and was reminded how important it is to have strategies for this season of high-calorie parties and busy schedules - otherwise you can get fat quick. But I get ticked off by the tired old suggestions you find on the Internet or in magazines like Woman's World.
Often the suggestions are lack any substance, because the writers don't want to imply you actually have to make a sacrifice to succeed. They make fat loss sound easy, as if all you had to do was park at the far end of the parking lot and you'd burn all the calories from 5 shortbread cookies.
Well it doesn't work that way...So here are my politically incorrect, unique Turbulence Training strategies to help you keep off the holiday pounds.
By the way, I "borrowed" a few ideas from contestants in my Turbulence Training Transformation Contest. The Transformation is rocking with social support and success stories right now, even while the rest of the world struggles with weight gain, these TT users are losing fat over the holidays.
Click HERE to get started with Turbulence Training for Fat Loss
Onto my strategies...
Strategy #1 - Green Tea & Almonds
One of the most common tips you'll hear is to "fill up" before you go to a party where there will be lots of goodies.
Unfortunately, most people I talk to have no luck with this tip. Most people still go to a party and eat everything in sight.
But recently TT users have told me that having a cup of Green Tea and one ounce of almonds has helped them avoid holiday cravings better than anything ever before.
The fiber from the almonds reduces appetite while the small amount of caffeine from the Green Tea seems to increase mental alertness and keep you "energized" at the party.
Hopefully that might work for you...
Strategy #2 - Don't waste your time on any fancy cardio programs
Listen, the bottom line over the holiday season is that your success depends almost entirely on your nutrition.
You can't expect to hit the cardio confessional and burn off last night's 2000 calorie smorgasboard. That's a 4-hour workout. Instead, don't get into that situation in the first place.
Here are more nutrition tips:
- Focus on portion control (and if you have no discipline, forget even trying to eat just one)
- Nix all drinks mixed with calorie-containing beverages, or better yet, just stop getting drunk. Period.
- Write down everything you eat to identify your problem spots. Then do whatever you need to do to eliminate your weaknesses. If you don't record your nutrition, chances are you'll miss big opportunities to change your diet and lose fat.
Strategy #3 - Take care of yourself first.
My friend Holly Rigsby (of http://www.fityummymummy.com) is always reminding busy moms to take care of themselves first, and I think that suggestion applies at this time of year to everyone.
So take a deep breath. Ask yourself as you're running around to please everyone else, "Have you set aside time for yourself"
Be selfish. Make sure you have had some exercise time, some good nutrition, and some rest before overextending yourself and doing too much for other people when you haven't taken care of yourself and your goals first.
Strategy #4 - Get on a roll
This one comes from a TT Transformation contestant who is too busy losing fat to get off track over the holidays.
Don't procrastinate till January 1st. Get started now. Dozens of men and women are doing their Turbulence Training Transformations right now - through the heart of the holiday season.
They aren't waiting for Jan. 1st to show up. They are taking control now, and getting on a roll, and not letting anything (from work parties to peer pressure) get in their way.
Strategy #5 - Exercise in short bursts whenever you can
Don't be afraid to dance at your Christmas party. Don't worry, there is bound to be at least one worse dancer than you out on the floor. Have fun and get down!
On a more serious note, here's how to avoid falling off the fitness program during the busy holiday season.
Get your butt out of bed 15 minutes early so you can have 3 minutes to wake up and 12 minutes to do the December 2007 Turbulence Training 12 Minute Workouts.

"I got access to TT for Abs. I'm 5'7" and weighed 225. At the end of my fourth week on TT for Abs, my weight was down to 217. I could feel the changes in my shape. My shirt sleeves and shoulders were a little snug, I took my belt in a notch; so I suppose I lost some fat and gained some muscle. I had lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks. That's much better than I ever did before."

"Hello, I just finished my first month following this program. I lost 5lb, which is not bad at all. I was also tracking my

Inspirational Fat Loss Success Story
From a man who has lost over ten inches on his waist...here's a story that shows you that EVERYONE can succeed when they get their mind ready to achieve long-term fat loss...
***********
Hi Craig,
You've said you'd like to hear more about my journey, and as I've said there's plenty to tell, so I'll give you some dot points and if you want me to expand on anything just let me know;
- I've always been big right through adolescence, the last time I was under 100kgs I would've been in my early teens
- My regular diet consisted of no breakfast, big lunches & even bigger dinners
- When I did eat it was often high fat, highly processed, low nutritional foods
- I'd average 4 litres of Cola per day for years
- I'd rarely have any fresh fruit or veg, nor would I drink much, if any, water
- I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day since my middle teens (I'd decided a few years ago to give up that first before trying to loose the weight thinking quitting smoking would be easier than loosing the weight again, I couldn't be more wrong)
- In 2002 I finally managed to get the pack-a-day down to a pack every three weeks or thereabouts
- Last year I've kicked the habit and now consider myself a non-smoker
- My exercise was very limited, I played cricket in the summer but put myself in a position where I could get away with exerting as little effort as possible while doing so. I also played some golf, but got a cart every time so the walking was very limited
Despite all this, my health issues were relatively few, I;
- had slightly elevated Cholesterol and Triglycerides levels
- suffered from sleep apnea (which I would wake up from 4-6 times each & every night)
- had chronic knee complaints
- was often low on energy & motivation to do anything about it
Surprisingly though, my blood pressure was normal despite a history of it in the family with my father and his mother both suffering from hypertension.
So that was my situation in January. A couple of years earlier I picked up a book by Paul McKenna called "I can make you thin", I had no intention of reading it at the time but it was on special so I bought it and threw it in my draw at work where it stayed. I'm not sure if you're aware of McKenna's work but I actually read it for the first time in January this year just as
I embarked on my weight loss effort, I knew what I wanted to do, but didn't know exactly how to go about it (which sounds very similar to my current predicament with the exercise).
The thing that really got my attention is that it uses similar techniques to those I had been taught at work (via a
self-improvement course) around the same time, the book just made very good sense to me and the fundamental end result of which was that I was able to eat less and be satisfied.
Of course it's much more complex than that, for example;
- I never miss breakfast now, whereas before it was a rarity that I justified not having by saying I didn't have enough time, in the end it was just a plain old habit not to have breakfast
- I have much smaller meals now, often a quarter or less of what I would've had in the past, yet I never go hungry what I've done, is stopped the overeating I did at every meal
- I eat regular snacks between meals, usually a piece of fruit or something (will be trying almonds next from what I've read on TT so far), but only when I'm hungry & I stop once I'm no longer hungry
- I now drink 2-4 litres of water per day every day, I have virtually no cola, although I do have a small fruit juice (usually 200ml of apple, cranberry or blackcurrant juice) most mornings which I've noticed you label as "liquid calories" and have put it on your list of things to avoid
But it's not all perfect eating, I still enjoy some pizza from time to time for example, but the difference is now it's not the twice a week thing it used to be and when I do it's only ever a couple of pieces, not the whole pizza like I used to. But this is possibly the best thing about change in my eating, I'm not scared of eating anything, as long as I enjoy every mouthful
& stop when I'm full or no longer hungry it seems to work well for me.
The second part to the weight-loss has been the exercise. One of the most discouraging things I had to deal with at the start was the embarrassment I felt when exercising at over 300 lbs. In fact my wife didn't even know I was exercising for the first three weeks! I'd do it once she'd gone off to work, or I'd come home & do it before she got home, it was the one thing I was least prepared for, but thankfully it was quickly overcome as the results began to show quite quickly.
My exercise routine;
- started off with low-impact cardio (exercise bike & swimming) and no weights
- after I'd lost the first 10kgs I introduced the treadmill into the routine along with some infrequent weights, just doing whatever I felt like doing at the time with no real purpose
- then after I'd lost about 20kgs around April I started playing squash (I used to play a lot as a teenager) that started out as one session for an hour a week, since about June I've been playing at least three times a week
- just in the last month I've started experimenting with some more weights and tried the methods suggested in the TT emails
Today, the health issues I had have subsided;
- my sleep apnea has gone & I've never slept so well
- my knee complaints are still there, but they are not as bad as before, no doubt due to the fact I'm carrying 35kgs less I strap up my knees every time I play squash, before when I didn't I could barely walk the next day but not so after I strap them
- I haven't yet had my cholesterol and triglycerides levels checked but have put that on the agenda to do in the new year
- I've got plenty of energy now & definitely motivated to keep going
Through all this, I do have two regrets;
1. I didn't take any really good before photos; and
2. I didn't take any measurements of myself other than my weight, now looking back I would've liked to have taken out the tape measure before I started
However, my change in clothes size is a true testament to the amount of fat I've lost;
- my pants size have gone from a 117-122 (46-48") down to 97 (38"), so that's easy to tell I've lost 10" there
- my shirt size has gone from 7XL down to XL
- I've had to replace virtually my whole wardrobe (which has cost a small fortune) and I've gotten rid of all my old "fat clothes" except for one pair of pants that I'm keeping so I can show just how far I've come
- actually shopping for new clothes is one of the most satisfying things I do now, before I was limited to the few stores that had big men's sections, now I can go wherever I please & there is nothing more pleasing than that
No doubt the other most satisfying thing is the family & friends who just can't believe the changes I've made, all the comments about how great I look, asking what's my secret, some long-time friends of mine who I hadn't seen since last year didn't even recognise me at first! Everyone is happy for me, and I couldn't be happier myself, I could write another essay just on the comments but I think I've already written way too much (that is if you're still reading this by now!).
So now I'm looking to use TT to put some purpose and structure around my exercise and try to help me get to my weight-loss goal. I haven't really started any TT routines yet other than playing with a few ideas presented in your emails, I'm still trying to absorb the huge amount of info there is with a view to get started on it properly over the next week or two.
Cheers,

Another Australian Turbulence Training Success Story
To Craig Ballantyne and Turbulence Training,
My name is Matt Schafer & I recently purchased Turbulence Training after much consideration and procrastination. I used to workout 5 - 6 times a week lifting weights and doing 3 - 4 cardio sessions (usually lasting up to 40 -50 min per session) 3 times a week.
And somewhere in between workouts I had to fit in...LIFE...and WORK and FAMILY, needless to say I was a very exhausted by bedtime every night, which dosnt mean I actually slept, I was usually planning the next day or worrying about how I was going to fit everything in. It wasnt before too long that I burned out, injured and that stressed I was put on anxiety medication by my doctor. I had lost all my motivation, I wasnt making any real gains (Strength or Size), I was lean but was hungry and I hated working out and exercise.
Now I have always been a keen sportsman and loved exercise so coming from me that was a big statement which suprised by peers and family. I couldnt even walk past a gym without snarling.
Then I would get my motivation back start working out again, overtrain, undereat, get fatigued, get injured and lose motivation. It was one huge rollercoaster ride. I could not find a balance between my life, my family and my career and my fitness. I started binge eating which eventually led to weight gain (in the wrong areas). So here I was, 34 years old, A husband, A father of 2 small children under 10 y.o, completely de-motivated and miserable and now being treated for depression and anxiety.
I simply stumbled across Turbulence Training whilst researching training methods on the internet whilst trying to rebuild my life, it was straight forward, practical and didnt froth on with any of the bulls**t that every other website seemed to have. So I started reading and it seemed like Craig Ballantyne had found the way to exercise and get results without making an enormous impact on my life.
Dont get me wrong, I know that it is hard work to get into shape and I wasnt looking for an easy way out, I was simply looking for BALANCE and a workout system that was PRACTICAL. Then I had the usual thoughts, should I, shouldnt I, If I did, If I didnt, I will start next week, no I mean it I will start next week...or maybe the week after. It wasnt until one day that I got up, the fog in my head temporarily disappeared and I had to answer to the worlds worst critic..the biggest a-*hole that loved kicking me in the butt, that loved telling me to wake up to my self....that was...my reflection.
Yep the man in the mirror told me to get my act into gear and get on with it, so thats what I did. That day I got on line and bought TT. That was 3 weeks ago. I have not missed a workout, Im back eating healthy but more importantly I have the best of both worlds..I can be the loving caring husband I always wanted to be, the proud playful father that I was
born to be and be physically fit all at the same time.
Even though I am early into my TT training I have already lost 4.8kg and I am a lot happier doing my workouts. My doctor says he has already noticed the change in my mental wellbeing and is impressed with my approach and confidence. I look forward to continued results and am confident they will come now I have TT as my training partner. Most importantly, my wife and kids are thrilled to have me back instead of being stuck in the gym for hours upon hours or injured. I will keep you informed of my progress of both physically and mentally but thank you for a step in the right direction.
I have included a poem that I have memorized which is from a motivational book that I own called "You Can Do It" by Paul Hanna, it is very powerful and Im sure other TT users will get some benefit of reading it. It is called the "Man in the Mirror"
The Man in the Mirror
If you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you King for a day
Then go to the mirror and look at yourself
And see what that Man has to say
For it isn't a man's father, mother or wife
Whose judgement upon him must pass
The fellow whose verdict counts most in his life
Is the Man staring back from the glass
He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest
For he's with you clear up to the end
And you've pass your most dangerous, difficult test
If the Man in the glass is you friend
You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass
But your final reward will be heartache and tears
If you've cheated the Man in the glass
Thank you Craig, for helping find my Man in the Mirror and thank you for Turbulence Training
Yours faithfully

Cardio & Fat Burning
So if you've read at least one fitness magazine in your life, you know that some people really believe you can benefit from...
a) Doing cardio on an empty stomach.
b) doing slow cardio at low intensity because it burns more fat.
And if you've read any of my articles, you should know that I think both of these approaches are over-rated. So does Erik Ledin, a transformation expert (www.leanbodiesconsulting.com). I intereviewed Erik this morning for a bonus report that I'll release on Turbulence Training and the TT member's site on Jan 1st. Erik believes that nutrition and exercise consistency are far more important than any of this miniscule B.S. that "experts" like to write about.
In fact, you'll be shocked by some of Erik's methods, especially his approach to "contest day" for competitors. He basically turns traditional advice on its head when it comes to sodium and water manipulation in the week before a contest. It was a great 75 minute interview...
I'll be interviewing 2 more transformation experts and bundling that up into one big special report on how to maximize your transformation results...look for that as early as Dec. 31st from www.TurbulenceTraining.com
No BS fat loss,

Top 10 Turbulence Training Videos of 2007
Tis the season to give...so I wanted to share with you the top 10 fat burning Turbulence Training workouts that we've put up on Youtube this year.
Next year, I want to add 2 new TT lessons per week to Youtube, so send us all your video requests and we'll help you burn fat faster than ever with our exercise instructions.
Before I get to our top 10 list, I want you to watch our latest video, explaining the TT Transformation here:
http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=x3kxsEpgjUs
Now on with the countdown...
#10 - TT in the Pool
Here's me giving some Pool Workout suggestions while on a trip to New Zealand...this was filmed in Auckland, while visiting an old buddy who works for Cirque du Soleil.
Watch: Pool Workout
#9 - TT Hotel Room Workout
This one was done in a budget hotel room in Australia on the same trip, just before I went and walked 30 km around the beautiful city of Sydney.
Watch: Hotel Room Workout
#8 - Fat Loss Interval Training
Hopefully this video answers a lot of your questions about the right type of "cardio" for fat loss.
Watch: Interval Training
#7 - TT Bodyweight 500
This pair of videos will likely shoot to #1 in 2008, thanks to the promotion MensHealth has planned for this program. But for now, be among the few insiders who have watched and tried the TT Bodyweight 500.
Watch: Bodyweight 500
And then watch this bonus video of a TT user doing the TT 500 Challenge
#6 - Bodyweight Circuit
A nice bodyweight circuit you can do at home in place of interval training to burn fat.
Watch: Circuit Training
#5 - My favorite ab exercies
You can do these at home: Ab Exercises
#4 - Bodyweight Butt Exercises
Yeah, a little different than normal, but this one is for the ladies I guess...
Watch: Butt exercises
#3 - Pushup Variations
One of our earliest vids, as you might be able to tell...this one is almost a year old, but its a few pushups you might not have done before.
Watch: Pushups
#2 - Back Exercises at Home
This is one of my most educational videos, since so many people train at home without access to a pullup bar or pulldown station, so you need all the ideas you can get for your back exercises.
And here they are: Back Exercises
#1 - And the winner is, the "300" video.
First, I want everyone to know that I didn't come up with this workout. I only filmed it for Men's Health to put on their site.
Anyways, here it is...help me push it to 500,000 views this year, and then over 1 Million in '08. That would be cool. So give it a view and then tell all your exercise buddies to watch it too...
Watch the 300 Workout
So there you go...I hope you like those vids, share them with your friends, family, and co-workers, and help them lose fat and make exercise fun again - all while getting your workouts done faster than ever.
Its a little early, but I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It's been a good one for me, and I can only hope it was for you as well.
Here's to 2008 being your best year ever. If there is anything I can do to help you out, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks so much for your support!
2008 is going to be a heck of a year,

"I have been using it for about 6 weeks now. I have reached my lowest weight yet and more importantly I didn't starve or over work myself. I can now do 10 pushups on my toes for each set and I have noticed muscle development in my chest which I could not get before TT. At 46 years old I feel that I can reach a level of fitness that I didn't think was possible and I don't have to be a slave to working out. It is true that your workouts can be done in 45 minutes which leaves a lot more time for enjoying life."
Cindy Casella
"I went from 15.6% down to 11.7% and MAINTAINED my lean mass (and strength actually increased a little). The TT for Muscle workouts are awesome. I have worked muscles I didn't know I had and I didn't expect to get stronger, but I have! To date, I am 5 lbs more muscular than I was 5 weeks ago - that's not bad for a guy who'll turn 38 next week!"

Workout, Motivation, & Turbulence Training youtube videos
Despite some gloomy weather here in Toronto, I had a pretty sweet day. Finished up a Jay Ferruggia Maximum Mass workout, doing deadlifts, presses, and reverse lunges, and then hit the Apple store at the mall.
That store is always packed. I picked up 3 ipods as gifts for friends...a 16gb Itouch, an 8gb Itouch, and a wee little shuffle. The Itouch's are very cool because you can watch Youtube videos on them...so you can watch the Turbulence Training Youtube videos anywhere you have an internet connection.
Speaking of the TT videos, don't miss tomorrow's "Top 10 Turbulence Training Videos of 2007". I'll be counting down the videos in my newsletter at Turbulence Training.
And finally, I started the day by doing the best interview I've ever done with Dax Moy, the creator of the Magic Hundred goal achievement system. The interview lasted for almost 90 minutes, and Dax covered how to stick to your goals for fat loss and personal growth.
If you've ever had a hard time sticking to something you've started, you're going to get a lot out of this interview. Its not an exaggeration to say that this interview will be life-changing for thousands of people who read it or listen to it.
Look for this interview to be added to the Turbulence Training Membership Site on Dec. 31st as part of my New Year's Turbulence Training promotion.
Great stuff coming up in 2008,

In this workout, I prepared a challenging beginner bodyweight circuit to burn fat and help men and women prepare for the harder bodyweight workouts to come.
Here's some feedback...
"This is crazy! I did the very beginning preparation stage of the bodyweight workout for only 4 weeks and have lost 9 pounds of disgusting fat!! And I know that it is all fat because I measured
my bodyfat before I started and tested it after I finished the first 4 week phase. I mean, I've been able to lose weight before, but there is a difference between losing "weight" and losing fat! I
am so pumped! Just wanted to share. Thanks for listening!"

12 Minute Turbulence Training Workouts
We'll be at our family's house in the country, walking my Chocolate Lab, little Bally, through the snow in the fields and watching him chase the smells of rabbits and groundhogs - and looking so proud of himself as he returns to our side - now that's a good dog.
Yet I'll still be slipping in my workouts, and going to the gym on the 24th, the 26th, and the 28th of that week. I'll find the time to stick to my regular program.
But if you have more obligations, more little ones to look after, more last minute presents to buy and more post-Christmas sales to attack, then take my best piece of holiday fat burning workout advice in order to stay lean and "fat-free" this holiday season.
First, realize there is no need to skip exercise during the busy holidays! A 12-minute workout can give you 75% of the results as a regular workout.
Here's how to do it...
Choose 2 exercises and perform them back to back without rest. For example, if using dumbells, you could do a dumbell squat and a dumbell chest press.
If doing bodyweight exercises only, you could use prisoner squats and close-grip pushups.
The first time through the pair, use either 50% of the weight you normally use, or do 50% of the reps you'd normally do (if you choose bodyweight exercises). Then rest 30 seconds. The second time through, work at 75% capacity. Rest 30 seconds.
Now you are ready to go at 100% capacity (using your normal weight for 8-10 repetitions per set or doing as many reps as you can with the bodyweight exercises).
Rest 30 seconds after doing both exercises, then repeat, and work until 12 minutes are up.
How does this help?
You still burn calories and build muscle while losing fat, all in only 12 minutes...so it saves you time you need to spend on holiday activities.
Who knows, you may like it so much it becomes your regular workout approach.
If you want more 12-minute workouts, sign-up for Turbulence Training and as part of the bonuses, you'll get access to the TT Members site, where I've just added video of 9 different 12-minute workouts for you to do anytime you don't have time for a full workout.
Remember - that workout is in the Members area, and when you start with Turbulence Training, you get 3-months access to the Member's site.
Enjoy!

PS - Turbulence Training Burns 14 pounds of fat in 6 weeks.
"In 6 weeks I have lost 6.5kg (14.3lbs). Bear in mind that I was not excessively overweight but I am now in my ideal weight range (with abs) without dropping off existing musculature. As far as internal health goes my cholesterol has dropped from 6.4mmol/L to 3.7 mmol/L (247mg/dL to 142mg/dL). Guess what! my life insurance premiums will reduce accordingly if i keep it this way. I can tell you that this point alone covers the cost many times over. Did I mention I feel great."
Alan Rogers
"Dear Craig, while I've been a member for about a month now, I can honestly say that you and your tt program and you are great. I have lost 10 lbs. so far. additionally, you are an extremely unique and wonderful person. in the past, you have always been there for me. I can't thank you enough."
Jennifer
"In the last 3 1/2 to 4 weeks my body has become much stronger, as well as leaner, with muscle....It's funny some of the trainers at my gym watch me work out and often ask where do I get my workouts from...and my abs are incredible. All I can say is THANK YOU....THANK YOU...THANK YOU."

Turbulence Training is Tops Down Under in Australia
I am a
I have been using the Turbulence Training programs and principles in my own training and that of my clients and have been very impressed with the results, as have they. My clients are training harder on briefer, more effective programs and are happy with the results to say the least.
The training principles I've used for years have always been on the quality rather than quantity side, but the innovative program structuring that goes
with TT is great and provides plenty of variety and challenge.
Furthermore, from a personal perspective, my joints which have been battered after years of martial arts and heavy weight training are now more pain free
and enable me to hit the gym and train hard and consistently. You have my full endorsement."
Sean Bowring

"
How could this be I used to think to myself I go to the gym 4 times a week doing weights and 40 min of high intensity cardio with the odd spin class, but nothing has changed. I was beginning to think that it was just my body - perhaps I'm getting to old now to get great results - it was to say the least depressing.
As my gym membership was running out I decided that I would try something different and get away from the gym as the results were poor. There has been recently a few articles about the benefits of sprints so I decided to some research on the net and that's where you came into the picture and I am so grateful for your programs! There is hope for me yet!
It's been about 6 weeks since I started the initial program and have moved onto the women's 4 week program and I've had fantastic results. I really appreciate how comprehensive the manuals are, with detailed pictures and instructions. Best money I ever spent!
I've also used the nutritional guidelines which are so easy to follow. The result, the love handles on the back have disappeared and my stomach is much flatter, my arms are more toned and even my legs look thinner! To say I am happy is an understatement! I feel like I'm moving away from that heavy set appearance and am looking forward to have a great summer (as it's currently spring in Australia).
Even at the 2-3 week mark my husband was commenting that I've lost weight and since then people have really noticed that my shape is changing. Every week people are saying, have you lost more weight? My body fat is really shifting and the best bit is that it takes far less time than going to the gym giving much more time for me! It also feels great to take control of your workouts!
I'm looking forward to the next few weeks and months as I continue on the various workouts to see how much more my body can change. It's great that there are so many workouts to keep the body challenged! Thank you for providing such proven workouts for poor misguided people like me!"

Crisco Thighs
I'm down in Palm Beach at a meeting, so I'm letting some of my www.TTmembers.com contribute to the TT site today...here's a great bit from MaggieW, that I picked up from her TT Transformation Journal...
Here's a bit of visual motivation (originally posted on Maggie's blog HERE) to keep me on track:
Go to the kitchen. Scoop out 1/4 cup of Crisco shortening, the solid, greasy white stuff. That's what you are burning off your thighs every day you follow your own program and attain a 500 calorie deficit. It may take a while for all of those scoops to make a visible difference, but eventually they WILL.
One week on plan = One pound of shortening/fat lost = 1.75 cups of volume
Measure THAT out and consider if you still want that fat hanging around next week.
In a little over 9 weeks, you will have burned off enough fat to fill a 1 gallon jug, or one of those really big canisters of Crisco.
Gross! But the visual is important...now get out there and start burning fat with Turbulence Training.
Get started on your transformation,
CB

Lose 30 Pounds in 8 Weeks
Two summers ago, I worked with a great gal from hollywood, Rachel Nichols (you can see her in a small role in Tom Hanks upcoming movie, Charlie Wilson's War). Rachel did some Turbulence Training workouts while filming a movie up here in Toronto.
That's about it for me in terms of training Hollywood actors or actresses in person, but recently I was asked, "Imagine you're working with a major film star who has eight weeks to lose 30 pounds of fat and build some muscle in preparation for the lead role in the latest Hollywood blockbuster. What do you do with them?"
********
Here's my answer...
I would have control over every single thing that they eat. That's the biggest ticket to success here. No booze, no excess sugar, and just giving them enough reward to stick with the program.
If this "star" is a typical overweight, sedentary individual, we'll have ho problem achieving getting rid of 20 pounds of fat through nutrition.
As for exercise, we need to be consistent, and stick with our intensity principles. We would do 3 hard workouts per week using strength training followed by interval training with the program being centered around basic movement patterns done with free weights.
Everything is done in supersets in the workout to get more done in less time. For example, we might do a squat supersetted with a pressing exercise. I also like to pair free weight exercises and bodyweight exercises in supersets, for example, a dumbell split squat paired with a decline pushup.
We'll do 3 superset pairs, each for 1-3 sets, and stick to 8 repetitions per set. Then we'll finish the workout with 6 hard
intervals of 30-60 seconds (with 60-120 seconds rest between each). This way, we are in and out of the gym in 45 minutes.
On "off days", we'd still get at least 30 minutes, if not 60 minutes, of low-intensity exercise. But it wouldn't just be slow
cardio. Instead, we'd focus on low-intensity bodyweight circuit training.
For example, if the actor can do a maximum of 25 bodyweight squats, 15 pushups, and 5 chinups, we would use easier versions of those exercises in circuits.
Here's a sample 6 exercise bodyweight circuit that we'd do at least 3 times, doing 10 reps per exercise.
Wall Squat
Kneeling Pushup
Beginner Inverted Bodyweight Row
Step-up
Stability Ball Leg Curl
Mountain Climber
After that, we might cross train with a variety of cardio exercises to avoid overuse injuries that occur when you repeatedly do the same activity and nothing else.
So that's pretty much it. If he (or she) sticks to their nutrition, we're as good as gold and the actor will be ready just in time.

PS - Turbulence Training Beats Cardio for Fat Burning Effectiveness.
"Craig's workouts were fun and challenging - I didn't dread going to the gym and I wasn't overly sore after our sessions. Much like my trainer in LA, Craig's workouts were always different: the exercises, the supersets, the weights...the combination of elements always varied and, therefore, I never got bored or felt like I was in a workout rut. And my co-stars couldn't believe how great my arms looked, thanks to Craig helping me do my first chin-up. Thanks Craig!"
Rachel Nichols, actress
"I have been in love with Turbulence Training ever since I started. I am 6'3", 28/M and my starting weight/body fat% was 208 pounds and 18.4% body fat. After 22 weeks of TT, I am now down to 190 lbs and 10.8% body fat."

Palm Beach Workout
Today I worked out at a Gold's Gym in West Palm Beach, Florida, with my webmaster Matt. It was the first time I'd been in a Gold's since 2001, so it was a lot of fun. Quite a meat market, and too busy at 5pm, but a great change from the small gym I lift at in Toronto.
I did...
DB Presses 3x6 @105. That was one of the great things, the dumbells went over 100. Its impossible to find that luxury in downtown Toronto, so even though I only used 105, it was still better than 100.
DB Reverse lunges 4x8, worked up to 65's
Pullups 5x8
Biceps curls to kill time while I waited for Matt to finish his workout.
Good times had by all,
CB
PS - The Bodyweight 500 is going to be HUGE in 2008.
Earlier this week I was down at Men's Health filming all the workouts for their website Belly off program starting in January. We've even added some new combinations of the prep workouts to give you extra challenges.
Transformation Updates
I'm up early today and off to catch a flight to Palm Beach, Florida, to meet with a few of the top online fitness experts for a few days, including guys like Ryan Lee, Mike Geary, Vince DelMonte, Joey Atlas, and a few others...
In the meantime, check this out...
We have over 25 people starting the TT Transformation contest so far...which is really odd when you consider that people are starting in the first week of December, a time generally reserved to resigning our willpower and accepting weight gain. That makes it the committment of these TT Members that much more impressive.
I also pulled these two quotes from MaggieW's TT Transformation Journal to share with you...
"The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want now." - Zig Ziglar
"It's not supposed to be easy. Disciplined people succeed; undisciplined people don't...Nothing changes by doing what's fun and EASY." - Tom Venuto

November TT Testimonial of the Month
I'm sitting around the LeHigh Valley International Airport reading through all of the Turbulence Training testimonials I received in November. In a moment, I am going to share with you one of the winners of the Testimonial of the Month (there were so many good ones this month, I couldn't pick just one). If you have a TT Testimonial or Success Story, please email your story to "support AT TurbulenceTraining.com". Thanks!
Here is one of our winners from November (and don't forget, winners get a free 1-Year Platinum Membership).
How Alan Rogers lost over 14 pounds of fat in 6 weeks
"I have been in and out of the fitness lifestyle for 15 years now. Played contact sport semi-professionally and then moved to pursue a career in an unrelated science.
The sticking point for me from this point has always been time. There was never enough to cover all muscle groups, find time for cardio and incorporate a stretching regime. It is any wonder why I didnt stay with my programmes. Certainly motivation and persistence are my core values but I am a busy person with a career. Unfortunately overtime I have had to choose.
That is until I stumbled across Turbulence Training. My whole routine including warmup, resistance, cardio (HIIT), warmdown and stretching are completed in one hour. I am not missing any element here. All components of my training are covered with multi-joint exercises and inexpensive equipment.
Why didnt I think of this before. What I'd been doing in the past was mere sculpting.
Combined with a realistic and healthy nutritional eating regime, in 6 weeks I have lost 6.5kg (14.3lbs).
Did I mention I feel great.
This stuff works and now that I have dropped the flab I am going to power into putting on mass. I would like to convey my appreciation to Craig on a fantastic service. I am a health professional who may have got a little bit lazy but this message is the best going around and has incinerated most disempowering myths circulating through the fitness world."
Cheers,
Alan Rogers, Australia
I look forward to hearing from you,
CB
PS - Time for my flight...

Turbulence Training Transformation Rules
Back in May of of this year when I was down in beautiful Bethesda, Maryland, at a meeting with my friend Yanik Silver, he said, "Craig, you have to do a transformation contest with your program. I know you'd have a great response."
But in my mind, I just came up with a list of excuses. I thought, "What if no one enters?", "How would I organize it?", and "What kind of prizes could I give away?".
You see, I had doubts about my ability, just like most people have before starting a fat burning program. I was looking for excuses to justify my procrastination. I didn't believe in myself.
Fortunately, one day I changed my mindset to a "can-do" attitude and jumped into it. And now we're already rocking and rolling with over a dozen entries - and its still not even New Year's - that's when I expect hundreds of new entries.
You should see how pumped up the people are on the Turbulence Training Transformation Forum already, I can only imagine the excitement, camraderie, and social support in January.
Heck, we've already have people lose 3, 5, and even more pounds in their transformation, all because they got rid of their excuses, and I got rid of mine. And I hope you will get rid of yours as well.
Now I must admit, I've had quite a few questions about how to go about the transformation...here are all your questions answered. And don't miss all of the rules at the bottom of this email...
Q: Does it matter which Turbulence Training (TT) program we use?
Answer:
No, you can use any TT program you wish for your transformation.
You can burn fat with TT for Fat Loss or you can build muscle with TT for Muscle. There are plenty of options, so go with whatever you coose. You can even use one of the Bodyweight programs from the TT Deluxe Package.
I've found that the best total body transformation (i.e. to gain muscle and lose fat) programs available in the Turbulence Training package are the TT2K3, TT2k4, TT2K5 and Fusion Fat Loss workouts. If you did each of those for 4 weeks, you'd have a new body by the time your 12-week Transformation is up.
However, if you are new to the Turbulence Training style of fat burning workouts, you must start with the Beginner or Intermediate workouts found in the main Turbulence Training for Fat Loss manual.

Q: What is the recommended criteria for transformation photos?
Answer:
For men, a shirts off photo is best. For women, a tank top or sports bra. These will showcase your transformation the best.
However, please just take a photo that feels comfortable for you.
Also, the more photos, the better. So if you have a side photo, front photo, and back photo, you'll be able to see more changes.
And you don't have to post all these photos if you don't want to...but they are best for your own tracking of your personal
changes. In reality, it becomes a question of whatever you think is necessary to show the progress.
I suggest this...take photos in a few outfits and from different views, and then post what you are comfortable with...
As long as you have other photos in different outfits taken on the same day 1, you can always put up something else to make the changes more dramatic. The more photos you take, the better your chance of having the most accurate set of "before and after" photos.
Q: Do we have to post our before pics now or can we post them after we have completed out 12 weeks?
Answer:
I would prefer the before photo to be posted now. It gives more accountability and motivation to others, and to yourself.
Q: Is there a requried body fat percentage to be at to begin with?
Answer:
No. I expect all levels of fitness, fat loss, and muscularity to compete in this tranformation.
Above all, this is a contest with yourself, to achieve the best darned results you can achieve - no matter what results anyone else gets.
Q: What are the prizes? How will these be determined?
Answer:
I am putting together some incredible prizes...
Grand Prize - $2000 & a 3-year Platinum TT Membership
Second Place - $1000 & a 2-year Platinum TT Membership
Third Place - $500 & a 1-Year Platinum TT Membership
Prizes will be determined by our judging panel, consisting of Brad
Pilon, Holly Rigsby, and myself.

Q: Where should we post our progress?
Answer:
To participate, you must post your transformation progress (before and after photos) in the special Transformation Forum on the Turbulence Training Member's site.
I also encourage you to build your own blog, do videos of your transformation, and keep track of it in newsletters or on your own website.
The more visibility you have means the more accountability you will have...and therefore a better chance of success.
Plus, it will make for an excellent timeline of the time in your life when you turned your health around or just got in the best
shape possible. You'll always have this to be proud of and to motivate yourself for the future.
Q: And what are the RULES?
Answer:
1) You must have purchased Turbulence Training and used the TT programs to achieve your results.
2) You must keep a training journal in the Turbulence Training Membership forum (don't forget, you get 3 months free access to the Turbulence Training Membership site when you order Turbulence Training).
3) You must post before and after photos in your training journal in the TT Membership section.
4) The TT Transformation Contest runs from Nov. 26th to April 15th. All transformations must start and finish during this time period. Therefore, you could start as soon as today (which I hope you do!) or as late as January 21st...but I know you won't wait that long!
5) Each client has 12 weeks to complete their transformation. Photos must be taken on Day 1 and Day 84.
6) The Transformation Contest will be judged by a panel of experts, including but not restricted to: Craig Ballantyne, Brad Pilon, and Holly Rigsby.
7) In addition to providing Before & After Photos, each contestant must write a 300 word essay on their before and after success story.

PS - Lose Over 5 Pounds Per Month & Change Your Body With Only 3 Short TT Workouts Per Week...
"I'm 25 and was seriously overweight at the start of this year. I've been doing the TT for Fat Loss Workouts and after 5 months of training. I've lost nearly 28lbs. I want to take this opportunity to thank Craig for making your knowledge so accessible and your articles and blogs that not only make us think about our lifestyles, but encourage us to change them for better health."
Kevin Thow, Sydney, Australia
"Turbulence Training makes so much sense and i really enjoy the different workouts so never get bored. From an aussie that was looking for something other than just another weight workout with the same old moves this has been a real eye opener for me and i have been telling my friends just how great the TT method is."

"I lost 14 pounds this month and the weight is just falling off me. My wife says I now look like when we first met and I still have more to go. I can fit into my old jeans again which is a big deal for me. I just cut back on starches and bread and do your routine 2-3 times a week. I never thought in a million years that just 10-20 minutes of weight training followed by some cardio would get me such steady results. I even cheat a bit on the weekends."
