CTT Victory at FBBC and FBS

Wow, what a kick-off to FBS weekend. We have some very big news to report in the TT World.

And we're just getting started. CTT Nisan Trotter helped kick off the event today, and Daniel & Brittney will be on stage later this weekend.

They're even letting lil' ol me speak sometime, too.

So I'm going to take the day off from training and just do a few walks around San Diego while I rehearse my talks and think about the best particular articulations of my message.

I'll train tomorrow, and yesterday I had a great bench press workout in the hotel gym. Yep, the hotel gym had a bench press! It also had a TRX, and young Brian Kalakay, CTT, was in there dominating the straps.

TT in San Diego and Morocco and my Garage!

Today is my last day on the farm for a few weeks. Now it's off to Toronto tonight for an early flight to San Diego tomorrow. But I'll still be following my morning rituals. They are important.

Then the ol' pooch got dropped off at the kennel for a few days. Grandma will pick him up on Thursday.

The last thing I did before packing up was this great garage gym workout:

1A) Double KB Front Squat - 53x18 ... ties a personal best
1B) KB Swings

2A) DB Split Squat
2B) Plank

That should do me for a nice day off of travel.

Then the exciting times begin on Wednesday afternoon when I'll have a meeting with CTT's Daniel Woodrum and Ray Ortiz. On Thursday I speak at FBBC World Conference and do a 1-Day mastermind, and then two presentations (one on Friday and one on Saturday).

On Saturday I'll be recording a lot of podcasts and videos, and then delivering one of my legendary Perfect Life Workshops on Sunday.

Whew.

Monday Funday Meathead in the Garage

Sunday was one of my legendary Device-Free days. There was no phone, internet or TV... although I did sneak a peak at the television screens in the gym. It's hard to ignore them. Going device-free helped me do a LOT of BIG thinking on Sunday and gave me clarity about this weekend's presentation at FBS and also about some CTT program changes.

Dumbbells and Delays

Final day in Florida, presuming my flight gets out! Yesterday's flights were cancelled, and today's have been delayed, so we'll see what happens.

Of course, I can only use the 3-C Formula in situations like this. I can't do anything about the weather. I can't make planes fly faster.

Instead, I need to:
a) Control what I can... my thoughts, words, and deeds.... my emotions and actions... my energy and focus.
b) Cope with what I can't control... I'm always prepared for delays. I have food, water, work, and thanks to my personal evolution, I now pack patience with me more than ever.
c) Concentrate on what counts... Don't sit around and complain... instead, focus on my legacy. Everyone can do this. No matter how small the action, EVERYTHING matters. Make the right decisions, right now, for your right life. Always.

I'm also grateful for this morning's workout.

Back Under the Bar in Tampa

After an easy day off yesterday, and some great family time with the Ballantyne's and Marion family, it was back to the gym today.

Florida Fun and Deadlift Times

The fun times in Florida are still going on, although we've switched coasts. I'm now enjoying a visit to the Tampa area with my friend Joel Marion and his family. On Sunday we drove across Alligator Alley and up the Gulf Coast.

Today I hit Joel's Garage Gym for a great session.

Video Palooza and Front Squats

Today has been a fun video day. I've been screwing a bunch of them up, but I'll get it right eventually.

Besides, I learned a long time ago that mistakes don't matter... and that everything is a learn-able skill, whether you want to get good on video or if you want to stop swearing ... or start juggling... or become a KB guru.

Everything. Is. Learnable.

And YES, you CAN stop swearing.

It's simple.

You can do it.

I did it.

Not cursing won't stop you from making an impact.

After all, there was no swearing in Frozen... or The Golden Girls... and look at the impact they had. :)

I did that video in one take...

And sometimes my one-take videos turn out terrible.

Like today for instance, I filmed a video with poor sound.

People complained.

So I shrugged it off and filmed it again.

No big deal.

Lesson learned... and now I'll be better on video EVERY time.

Test Results Are in!

Saturday's physical was fun times in Toronto. I frightened the staff with my alarmingly low resting heart rate (40bpm), impressed them with my blood pressure (110/75) and estimated VO2Max (over 50 ml/kg/min), and wow'd them by beating their low standards for pushups, cardio tests, body fat levels (i'm up to an all-time high of 11%!).

Some other physical anomalies about ol' CB:
- I'm going deaf at low frequences and my left ear is worse than my right, but my hearing in the human voice/conversation range is fine.
- My fingernails look really weird. Always have.
- I have really poor circulation in my fingers (hopefully just Reynaud's)
- My HDL (good cholesterol) is off the charts... possibly the highest the doctor has ever measured in the clinic
- My eyesight is almost perfect (Thanks LASIK!)
- The nutritionist told me to stop eating so many protein bars... I don't get it, what's wrong with 4 protein bars per day.
- And YES, I am 5'9! (I spent the first 35 years of my life thinking I was 5'8.)

Ha, and then the personal trainer (who administered the pushups test) asked me if I did Crossfit.

I told her "No, but I know a 'little bit' about exercise."

The testing lasted about 4 hours and it's great to now have a set of baseline scores for the rest of my life.

I'll probably go back in 3 years, or two if something changes dramatically.

Yesterday I got back in the gym on a new program. After a big breakfast at the hotel in Toronto, and after posting another video on my Instagram page:

I drove back to the YMCA in Stratford for a late morning workout.

Not bad, but I still know I can get my strength up.

After that we filmed Bally's first video for Instagram.

Today I'll hit an upper body session in the garage gym. Tuesday is lower body in the garage gym, and then Wednesday we're taking my mom to Miami for her 75th birthday.

The trip will be like "The Golden Girls Go on Vacation"... although my mom will stay up way later than me each night. LOL. We have lots of great restaurants to visit and we'll hit South Beach on Friday, Golden-Girls style.

By the way, if you're over 40, you should get a physical, have a cardiovascular stress test, hire a trainer to test your fitness and take your body fat, get your blood measured, and (if you're over 45) get a colonoscopy. (I had one when I was 38 because of family history. It's not that bad, trust me.)

Take care of yourself for your sake, your family's sake, and peace of mind.

It's just another disciplined action to make your life easier.

TT Summit 2017!!!

Back in the late summer of 2012, my life was drastically changed. That may sound "dramatic", but let me tell you what happened...

At the time I was managing a bootcamp, doing personal training on the side and trying to pay off my college debt.

There was never enough hours in the day to get everything done. It felt like I was barely able to keep my head above water. It was only a matter of time before I sank to the bottom personally, professionally and financially.

But after just one weekend in 2012, that all changed.

Only 6 short months after that weekend, I was generating an extra 10K per month at my bootcamp, cut my college debt nearly in half and most importantly I was able to get more done in less time.

My life looked dramatically different.

How did all this happen?

I attended this special event

It was like that entire event was put together just for me. Every person I met that weekend added value to my life more than they'll ever know. My excuses were eliminated. My hardships were solved. My life was changed.

That weekend I realized MORE people in my community needed my help. It provided weekend me the resources and motivation to make it happen.
